How to set a timer

Programming and setting options

  1. Press the key combination I+II or I+IV for two seconds (first or second table of options);
  2. The option number, as stated in the instructions, is selected by pressing the IV button;
  3. After waiting a second until the signal appears, you can set the value using one key with the corresponding number.

Basic signaling options

Pay attention to the option “2-4”. By setting the timer on the key fob, you will not receive channel “1” activations at the specified time. And the defect is corrected simply - they give the function “2-4” the value “4”. You can control autorun from both the first and second additional channels. But the output that controls the turbo timer relay can only be “additional channel 2”. Set option “2-5” to “4” and get a working turbo timer.

When starting programming, make sure that the vehicle is disarmed. The hands-free option should also be disabled. How to implement autorun is described below.

Turbo timer and automatic start

Remember the following. The Scher Khan Magicar 6 alarm system is a turbo timer that controls a power relay from an additional output contact. The owner can remove the key and get out of the car, and the ignition will be maintained. The timer lasts for 2 minutes and cannot be changed here.


Automatic engine start module

An autostart module can be connected to the second, as well as to the first additional channel, but in the first case it cannot be controlled by a timer. Both options for the Magicar 6 signal will be valid. But the turbo timer relay can be controlled by the second additional channel, and no other. However, this has already been said.

Please note that autostart with your alarm will work in any case. But the same cannot be said about the turbo timer function: not every engine can withstand a short-term loss of ignition current.

Security system capabilities

Sherkhan car alarms are controlled via a secure 868 MHz radio channel, which ensures communication between the main module and key fobs at a distance of up to 2 kilometers. Models with GSM modules are controlled via a radio channel and the Internet. In the latter case, the distance of the car from the owner does not matter.

How to enable autorun

Automatic engine start in Sherkhan alarms is adjusted by time and temperature. Before using this option, you must set the correct current time, otherwise autorun will not work correctly.

In the Magikar 3 model, you can enable automatic start using a timer or remotely from the control key fob. To avoid mistakes and inaccuracies, the setting takes place with the engine turned off and the security mode active.

To activate autorun by timer, you need to simultaneously press buttons No. 2 and No. 4 for half a second. Entering the program menu is achieved by simultaneously pressing the keys for 2 seconds: for the first menu - 1 and 2 keys, for the second - 1 and 4. Starting the engine is remotely activated by holding button No. 2 for 2 seconds. You can set the start after 5, 15, 25 and 45 minutes.

Functionally, the alarm system is divided into security and control blocks. The security unit is mounted in the car interior and responds to attempts of unauthorized entry into the cabin and starting the engine. So, let's open the box and see what is offered in the Scher-Khan 6 kit. The alarm was announced as a reliable two-way car alarm without starting the engine. Indeed, if you pay attention to the statistics of installations of two-way car alarms with starting, it is striking that only in 20-30% of cases this engine starting is realized. Hence the question: why overpay for functions that are not implemented?

Whatever you say, it’s nice when the car alarm package includes everything to connect it. This is exactly the case here. It is especially worth noting that the one-sided keychain in all previous versions of Scher-Khan was purchased separately and was not cheap (about $20). Here it is included in the kit.

Let's take the main car alarm unit and, after some simple manipulations with a screwdriver, look under the body. We see that the board is made carefully, using SMD technology, however, like most modern car alarms. It is immediately noticeable that four proprietary, apparently very reliable, thirty-ampere (most car alarms use 20-ampere) Magicar relays are used here. Two relays for the central locking, 1 relay for the light alarm and 1 relay for unlocking the trunk.

Now let’s highlight the main differences between the “sixth Sherkhan” and previous versions, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of car alarms, both from the point of view of the car owner, and from the point of view of the installer and the alleged thief.

The first thing we should thank the manufacturer for is the separation of control of the disarm and arm modes on different buttons when using the proprietary Magic Code. Agree that although this is not a panacea for code selection, it will still complicate the hijacker’s task.

In the new alarm system, recording new key fobs into the system is only possible when entering a PIN code. This means that there is no possibility of introducing a new key fob capable of controlling a car alarm, for example, in a car service or at a car wash, when you leave the keys with key fobs and the car itself to strangers. In Scher-Khan Magicar V, a PIN code is not required to enter new key fobs into the system.

Unlike the fifth version of Scher-Khan, in the sixth it is possible to programmatically bind additional channels to events. For example, in the fifth version, in order to close the windows when arming, you had to press an additional button after turning on the “security” mode. In the sixth one you don’t have to do this - you just need to program an additional channel. That is, now there is no need to make unnecessary movements to implement, for example, such comfort functions as a “light path” (car headlights turn on after arming) or a “turbo timer” (two-minute cooling of the turbine at idle engine speed) and others.

The call sensor in the Scher-Khan 6 car alarm is designed to call the owner. It is attached to the car window. When you tap on the glass, a call is sent to the car alarm key fob. In the fifth version, one hit on the glass in the sensor area was enough, which sometimes led to false alarms. In Scher-Khan 6 you need to make a double weak blow.

I would also like to draw your attention to the presence, in the fifth version of Scher-Khan, of the ability to open the trunk lock in security mode, the presence of a temperature sensor, the readings of which are visible on the display of the double-sided key fob.

There is also a “hands-free” mode in which to arm and disarm you only need to approach or move away from the car with the key fob in your pocket. Since in this mode the key fob operates on the principle of a transponder tag, radio signal encoding is especially relevant here. We answer, it is dynamic. To bring the communicator into working condition, you must install the battery. The correct battery polarity is indicated inside the battery compartment.

The key fob is equipped with 4 buttons. To trigger the alarm functions:

  • single, short press - 0.5 seconds, long press - 2 seconds;
  • pressing the key combination short and long.

The security mode is activated by briefly pressing key 1. The system will close the locks, block the starter and ignition system. The security mode can be canceled by briefly pressing button 2.

A short press of key 3 turns on the key fob screen backlight for 10 seconds. Button 4 enables checking the system status. Simultaneously activating keys 3 and 4 for 2 seconds will enable or disable the locking mode of the communicator control buttons.

The LCD display shows system status information in the form of icons and symbols. The antenna symbol appears on the display if the vehicle is within range of the communicator's transmitter. The battery image shows the charge level of the power supply, 4 letters Z - enable VALET mode. The digital indicator informs about time, temperature and voltage in the machine’s on-board network.

The speaker symbol informs about the start of the siren, the crossed out hammer - deactivates the shock sensor, and the image of a cell phone - activates the vibration alert.

The icons on the key fob displays are intuitive. The image of burning headlights indicates that the light alarm is turned on, and a cloud of exhaust gases indicates that the car’s engine is running.

Pager programming

Programming the Sherkhan Logicar A car alarm key fob allows you to save the codes of 3 communicators in the system memory. For this:

  1. You should disable the security mode and turn on the car ignition.
  2. Press and hold the call sensor key for 2 seconds. The hazard lights will flash 1 time.
  3. In a 5-second period, press the sensor button once. If PIN entry mode is not activated, the lights will blink twice. When the mode is turned on 1 time, then you need to enter the PIN, the system will turn the hazard lights on and off 2 times.
  4. The LED will light up, which confirms that the system is ready to record the communicator code.
  5. You need to press key 1 on the key fob once; the system allocates 5 seconds for this procedure. Then repeat this operation on key fobs 2 and 3. When recording the code, the lights will flash 1 time.
  6. After recording code 3 of the communicator, the lights will blink 2 times and the system will return to normal mode.

Operating modes

  1. When you open the doors or trunk of a car that has the security function turned on, the alarm mode will go off.
  2. When the communicator receives a danger signal that has not been deactivated by pressing keys 1 or 2, it enters reminder mode by emitting audible alarms.
  3. When you hold down key 1 of the key fob for 2 seconds, the “panic” mode will turn on when the engine is off or the JackStop mode otherwise. The siren will sound and the car doors will lock.

How to install?

Step-by-step installation algorithm:

Mount the main unit inside the instrument panel. The block is attached to a plastic panel body or a metal load-bearing frame. Double-sided tape or plastic ties are used for fixation. There are no standard fastening points with self-tapping screws on the block. It is recommended to place the unit at a distance from the standard electronic components of the car, which may emit radio interference. Install the antenna. The location is usually the windshield of a car. The antenna elements must be located at a distance of at least 5 cm from metal parts of the body. The antenna unit is located vertically, thereby ensuring maximum communication range

In this case, the signal level may decrease and the range may be reduced. It is not allowed to install the unit under metal panels that will shield the signal. Stick a status indicator diode on the windshield and lay a signal wire. The diode can be located in a hole made on the plastic elements of the instrument panel or the trim of the front pillars. It is possible to fix the diode in the hole with glue or sealant. Install a siren on the engine side of the engine shield. Lay signal wires from the siren connector to the main unit. When installing a non-standard siren, follow the connection instructions. Modern cars can be equipped with signal switches in the trunk and hood locks. In the absence of such devices, free-standing mechanical limit switches are used. Installation is carried out in a hole made on the body or on a separate bracket attached to the body. The limit switch rod should not interfere with loading cargo into the trunk or maintenance of components and assemblies. Place an impact sensor in the cabin. How to install an alarm?

The alarm can be installed in a garage. You must first prepare a set of tools for installation and also disconnect the battery.

To install an anti-theft system you need to have:

  • multimeter for measuring voltage and determining breaks (short circuits) in electrical circuits;

  • soldering iron;
  • wire stripper;

The wire from the antenna to the microprocessor module is laid under the decorative trim of the interior; during installation, care must be taken to ensure that the cable is not pinched. The LED indicator is mounted in the corner of the front glass. First, its surface must be cleaned and degreased. You can embed the LED indicator into the dashboard, then you must first make a hole in it to install the light bulb. The siren is located under the hood of the car, in a place that is maximally protected from external influences from under the bottom of the car. Do not install the siren near heating units and moving parts. It is recommended to place the device's horn down to prevent moisture from forming inside. The hood limit switch is mounted on a metal surface that is as close to the body as possible. There should be no accumulation of moisture at the installation site. When the hood is locked, the sensor is protected by a rubber seal. The shock sensor is fixed in the car using two bolts. During installation, it must be taken into account that the consumer must have access to the controller to change the sensitivity parameter. The sensor is equipped with two regulators. The first determines the sensitivity of the warning zone, and the second - the alarm zone. For fixation, it is better to choose the central part of the body so that the device detects physical impacts from all sides of the body. If additional controllers are used, their installation is carried out taking into account the manufacturer’s recommendations. For example, the engine temperature sensor must be installed in the cooling system line. After installing all the elements, they are connected to the control unit. The wires are laid under the decorative lining of the car interior.

How to set up a MOBICAR car alarm

The MOBICAR system implements modern developments in the field of car protection against theft. The package includes a compact control key fob, digital shock sensors, and a small processor unit. It’s not difficult to understand the setup, despite the large number of built-in functions.

Among the main functions that need to be configured in the MOBICAR car alarm are:

  • car autostart;
  • setting automatic alarm activation;
  • sensitivity adjustment;
  • turning the shock sensor on and off.

The first thing you should learn is to start and stop the car using the key fob. This is a convenient feature that allows you to warm up your car in winter while you are leaving the house. Or turn off the engine if you stay in the store for a long time, so as not to overheat the vehicle.

Setting up engine autostart

You can start the engine remotely from the key fob only in security mode. For a vehicle with a manual transmission, it is necessary to prepare for starting, for this:

Possible errors when enabling the autorun function

If you do not meet the conditions for enabling autorun, the system will generate a number of errors that need to be eliminated. Among all the codes on the key fob there are:

  • ER:01 – the engine is on, you need to turn off the car to continue the settings;
  • 02 – ignition on: turn off and remove the key to continue working with the alarm;
  • 03 – the door is open. When the doors are unlocked, the security mode does not turn on;
  • 04 – hood open;
  • 05 – not set to autostart due to lack of preparation in cars with manual transmission;
  • 06 – standing brake is not engaged;
  • 07 – brake pedal pressed;
  • 08 – the motor does not work, it is worth starting the engine and continuing with the settings;
  • 09 – trunk open;
  • 10 – ignition is set incorrectly;
  • 11 – 19 – there was an alarm.

To program Sherkhan Logicar 6 remotes, you must know the Pin (located on the plastic card supplied with the alarm). You can set up an alarm key fob on your car by following the steps.

  1. Disarm the car and turn on the ignition. Hold the "Jack" key for two seconds. There will be a single flash of emergency lights.
  2. In five seconds, press “Valet”, the “Hazard Light” will work once. The LED will flash quickly.
  3. Complete the next action in 4 seconds. Press the "Jack" key. The number of presses is the first digit of the PIN code. Four seconds will pass. and the lights will light up once. This is confirmation that the first PIN value has been entered correctly. The LED will flash quickly.
  4. Repeat the previous step to enter the remaining secret code numbers. The emergency signal will sound twice.
  5. After five seconds since you entered the last PIN code value, the LED will light up continuously. This is a signal to enter remote control passwords.
  6. You have five seconds to take your next action. Double-click button 4 of the first communicator. The hazard lights will work once. Enter the codes of the remaining communicators. After entering the third key fob data, the lights will light up twice and the control unit will exit the setup menu.
