In the seventh VAZ model, the ignition switch consists of two main parts:

Checking the ignition switch

This happens as follows:

1. Checking the fixing component. Carry out the operating cycle of the ignition switch and make sure that the bolt extends when the key is in the third position. When the key passes the zero mark, the locking tongue goes inward. At least that's how it should be. As for the larva, it is supposed to move smoothly and not get stuck.
2. Next, you need to try to remove the key (the check occurs in all positions), and only in the third position can a working cylinder be removed.
3. Now you need to connect the ignition switch directly to the battery (another power source can be used).
4. Then the key is set to o and then the power (presence/absence) is checked at terminals 30 and 30/1. For testing, you can use a multimeter or a test light.
5. Next, the key must be set to position “I” (ignition) and check whether there is voltage on the 30/1 NT and 30/1-15 section of the circuit.
6. In the second position, the 30/50 chain is checked, while the key must be held, otherwise it will return back under the pressure of the spring.
7. In position “III”, the power supply to circuits 30/1 and 30/1NT is monitored.

When to replace

It is quite easy to identify mechanical problems. You just need to externally inspect the part for cracks or deformation. If jamming or sudden jumps occur when the key rotates, the mechanism requires replacement.

Diagnostics of the contact group requires a control device that will show the presence of voltage on the starter when the ignition is turned on. If there is no such device, you can use a regular “control” - a light bulb with two outgoing wires. If when you turn the key all the way, the lamp does not light up, it means that the signal is not being received and the contact group is not working. Therefore, the mechanism needs to be changed.

Tip: If one of the ignition switch parts breaks down, it is better to purchase the entire set at once, since some manufacturers may have different connecting connectors for the components.

4. Carefully remove both parts of the casing. After unscrewing the bolts, both parts of the casing can be easily removed from the bracket
5. Unscrew the two screws that hold the lock. They are located on either side of the switch. To remove the ignition switch, you need to unscrew the two mounting bolts
6. Disconnect the wires from the ignition contact group.
7. Insert an awl into the flat hole on the bracket and press the latch to move the latch. Remove the fastening bolt and use an awl to press the lock through the flat hole.
8. We pry the mechanism with a flat screwdriver and remove it from the bracket. After removing the bolts and pressing the lock, the ignition switch can be easily pulled out

Checking and repairing the contact group, installing and connecting a new lock

If you decide to replace only the contact group, you will need to remove the ring with a flat screwdriver - and the part will come off. When installing new contacts, it is necessary to place the groove on the secret part so that a slight engagement occurs. After that, we clamp everything with a spring ring.

Installing a new lock proceeds as follows:

1. Insert the key and turn it to the “0” mark.
2. We clamp the latch and at the same time insert the switch into the bracket.
3. We connect the wires according to the diagram. We connect the wires by color, as indicated in the diagram
4. We install the two parts of the casing and fasten them with bolts.

Tip: When connecting pins, it is important to use the correct diagram. If you connect different poles, the wiring may short out, which will lead to damage to electrical appliances.

How to replace a door lock on a VAZ 2107

Find the lock and manually disconnect 2 rods from it: the switch and the outer handle.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the 2 screws that secure the groove. They are located at the end of the door.

Then lower it a little and remove the tongue from the groove. Then move the groove along with the seal.

As I already wrote, my door handle recently broke. An unpleasant situation, I decided to fix it as quickly as possible. I didn’t take a new pen because... they are plastic. I took them for disassembly and bought the SSSrovskaya one. Externally, the differences from the other 3 are insignificant, later, if I have the money and time, I’ll probably change everything) Well, closer to the point, I managed to remove the handle without removing the door lock, but I couldn’t put it back.

For those who also encountered this problem, I will describe the installation process in more detail than what I found on the Internet:

1) Unscrew the door lock (without this, no matter how hard I try, it won’t be possible to install it!)

2) But you still won’t be able to press the lock, because the velvet is in the way. You don’t need to unscrew it completely. Just from the bottom is enough.

3) We successfully press in the lock and pull out the lever we need.

4) After this, we seamlessly connect the lever and the handle. Through the window for the handle, we install everything in place in the reverse order.

At the same time I decided to change the lock cylinder)) The new one looked terrible)

Everything is generally simple:
