Priora standard alarm system - detailed review

Alarm on a Priora is a serious issue; everyone is afraid for their car, trying to protect it to the maximum. The Priora is equipped with an alarm system from the factory - an immobilizer (immobilizer). On a Lada Priora car, it allows you to partially protect the car from theft. The immobilizer on the Prior is a factory anti-theft device combined with the car's electrical package, which is located under the center console. Owners immediately try to disable the immobilizer on their Priora, because they consider it archaic and prefer to install a more advanced alarm system on the car instead of the standard anti-theft one. Installing an alarm on a Priora will cost approximately 10,000 -17,000 rubles.

Disabling the immobilizer on a Priora is not easy. The engine is started by an electronic engine control system, which also blocks its operation when the immobilizer is turned on. And already in the electronic control unit of the car, in the place where the EEPROM circuits are stored, the process of data exchange with the immobilizer takes place, and at the ECU level there is a ban or permission to start the engine. You can turn off the alarm on a Priora yourself, but this requires knowledge of electronics and special tools.

What is an immobilizer for?

The immobilizer will allow you to start the engine only if the key is recognized in the ignition switch. This blocking device, by transmitting a signal to the ECU, can block sparking and fuel supply. The immo receives a signal from a key fob with a chip that sends a key recognition signal.

That is, even if an attacker fakes the ignition key itself, but does not fake the key fob, he will not be able to steal the car. An impulse is sent from the key fob chip, and without the key fob, the key is a plug for the ignition switch. Its work with the data of the electronic control unit is carried out in seconds, and during this time the immobilizer manages to determine the authenticity of the chip.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation of the standard Priora alarm, like any other, with reliable dynamic coding, is quite simple and understandable. The activated signaling system accepts for execution exclusively the commands of the native, trained chip installed in the ignition key of the Lada Priora. This will be followed by a series of logically related actions:

  • the communication coil, having received a reliable encoded signal from the ignition key chip, forwards it to the standard immobilizer (IMMO) of the Lada;
  • he, in turn, checks the received reliable, encoded signal with the code recorded in his memory;
  • if they match, the immobilizer sends a command to the authorized engine start of the Priora ECU;
  • The Lada ECU, having received a signal from the IMMO alarm, unlocks its electrical circuits;
  • If there is an unauthorized attempt to start the Priora engine, the IMMO will not send a confirmation signal to the ECU and the control circuits will not be unlocked. In addition, a siren warning signal with light flashes will sound;
  • in addition, the car key fob, built into the chipped ignition key, controls the central locking of the Lada Priora and its window lifts;
  • By installing shock or volume sensors yourself, the alarm system receives an additional option to increase its reliability.

Important: be sure to require activation of the standard Priora alarm system when purchasing it. Otherwise, you will have to configure it yourself using a training key with a red insert. In this case, various nuances with its performance are possible.

Operating principle of the immobilizer

The principle of immo operation is that while the engine is turned off, the ignition system is blocked, and when the key is inserted into the lock, it begins its work. One of the main elements of the immobilizer device - the antenna - uses an adapter to recognize the signal from the chip inside the key fob. If there is no key fob with a chip, the immo antenna will not receive the signal and the system will not work. After recognizing the key installed in the ignition switch, a positive signal is sent from the ECU to unlock the ignition system. The anti-theft system is completed within seconds and the vehicle is ready to start.

Causes of immobilizer malfunction

Sometimes the immobilizer of VAZ cars breaks down, and the driver cannot go anywhere in the car. Immo malfunction can occur for a number of reasons:

  • Battery completely discharged;
  • Technical difficulites;
  • Software problems.

The worst way to kill an immo is to completely discharge the battery or simply disconnect the battery from the car's power supply. De-energizing the network will result in a chaotic code being written to the EEPROM circuit in the ECU, all settings will be lost, and the immobilizer will block engine operation.

Technical problems are problems with the boards, immobilizer antenna, or its adapter. The most common failure is a “burnt” board. You can accurately determine which part has failed using the anti-theft device diagnostics. It is important to monitor the immobilizer fuse in the Priora, because it serves as a consumable element in the overall chain. Exactly also a breakdown of electrical equipment can adversely affect the operation of the immobilizer. The problem may occur after replacing the engine or electronic control unit. When replacing the engine, it is worth installing a new ECU and a new immo chip.

Software problems are failures of the code recorded by a specialist. They can occur in EEPROM cells or the alarm key fob chip. If the operation of the ECU chip can be corrected using a computer, adapter and equipment, then the key fob chip will have to be changed. There have been cases of blocking due to interference from smartphones and other mobile devices.

What to do if the immobilizer does not work?

If the locking device is “buggy” and does not see the key, it is necessary to determine their cause based on the signs of malfunctions. If you cannot solve the problem quickly, you can try to bypass the immobilizer.

Causes of malfunctions

All failures in the operation of the blocking device can be divided into two groups:

  1. Software. This type of malfunction is associated with incorrect functioning of the software installed in the microprocessor module. Also, software problems may affect the operation of the immobilizer unit or the chip in the remote control. To fix the problem, you will need to dismantle the mechanism and reflash it. If the malfunction directly affected the key, the chip must be repaired or completely replaced in case of a serious malfunction.
  2. Hardware related problems. The main problems include circuit failure or malfunction of one of the components of the blocking system. To determine the cause, a complete diagnosis of the device will be required.

It is important to remember that the battery in Lada Prioras should not be allowed to be completely discharged. As a result, chaotic information will be recorded in the immobilizer memory, which will lead to failures.

User Pavel Master spoke about problems in the functioning of the locking system due to a faulty key.

More details about the problems:

  1. Malfunctions in the operation of the immo can occur as a result of disconnecting the battery from the vehicle's electrical network. In Lada Priora cars, the blocking unit is not always firmly attached to the key, so de-energizing the on-board network will lead to problems. But this problem is more typical for reflashed devices.
  2. The battery discharged when trying to start the power unit. If the engine does not start due to problems in the power system, the driver may crank the starter mechanism for a long time. This will eventually lead to battery discharge. In particular, this problem often occurs in winter.
  3. The blocker may not function correctly as a result of replacing the motor or microprocessor unit. When changing the power unit, you also need to buy an electronic control module and a new chip tag for the device. Otherwise, there will be a need to re-bind the key to the immo block.
  4. Malfunctions in the operation of the blocking device can be caused by problems with electrical equipment and devices. One of the safety elements associated with the immobilizer may have burned out.
  5. Damage to the firmware of the blocking device. The immo coding is stored on a specific microprocessor unit board. If the memory malfunctions, it will have to be programmed again.
  6. The chip in the key is faulty. The problem may be software in nature or the problem may be due to physical damage. To determine the cause, you will have to disassemble the key.
  7. Problems are often caused by interference from mobile phones and smartphones, which is especially noticeable when the ignition is activated.

Signs

It is necessary to remove and repair the blocking device for the following “symptoms”:

  • the starter unit does not rotate the crankshaft when trying to start the power unit;
  • an indicator appeared on the control panel in the car’s interior indicating a malfunction in the internal combustion engine;
  • the starter mechanism turns the crankshaft, but the engine does not start;
  • the driver tries to close the doors with the key, but the locks do not respond to these actions.

One of the signs of a faulty anti-theft system is shown in a video made by user Igor Bakhirev.

How to bypass the immobilizer?

Disabling the blocking device yourself involves using a bypass module. There are many options for installing such a “device”. It is recommended to purchase a branded device, for example, Starline, which will bypass the blocker. It can be ordered online or purchased in store.

A simple option for installing a crawler:

  1. First you need to find the device block. To complete the task, you must disable the microprocessor module used to control the power unit. The device is dismantled and put aside. It is located in the lower compartment of the center console.
  2. After the block is in your hands, it must be disassembled. To do this, use a wrench to unscrew the four bolts on the device body.
  3. The next stage will be the modification of the microprocessor module, in particular, to bypass the blocker, a resistor chip must be resoldered. Before disabling the immobilizer on the Priora, the unit is connected to the computer via a special cable.
  4. Using the PAK bootloader, you need to diagnose the firmware, in particular, two memory slots - Flash and Eeprom. The version of the software you are using must be saved in case errors are made during the process and you have to install it back. If the firmware reading is completed, the new untrained software is installed on the microprocessor module. Then the resistor element is soldered to its original place. If necessary, a new chip with untrained memory can be used.
  5. The next step will be to deactivate the anti-theft system. This must be done to prevent the possibility of blocking it during operation.
  6. To perform the task, a plug block with 20 contact elements is disconnected from the device. Wires numbered 9 and 18 are cut off from the connector and then connected to each other. The connection point must be insulated with electrical tape.
  7. Then the block with wires is connected to the microprocessor module. The device is installed in its original location.

Signs of a faulty factory security system

  • the car does not start;
  • the electronic control unit does not respond in any way to pressing the key fob;
  • the system does not work when hitting the surface of the body;
  • constantly activated for no apparent reason;
  • the doors are locked after pressing the open button.

Malfunctions are often associated with the design of the standard security system. Owners of domestic vehicles note that after several years of operation, the starter does not activate when trying to start the engine, or turns off after a few revolutions.

If one of the problems occurs, turn off the device, then contact the installers to diagnose and determine the cause of the problem. Before contacting the service center, test the system yourself, following the sequence of measures.

Algorithm of actions

  1. Make sure there are no signs of damage to the key fob. Check the functionality of buttons and contacts.
  2. Check the power supply. If necessary, replace with a new one.
  3. Check the functionality of the central control unit. If the central unit breaks down or malfunctions, you will need to contact the service center installers to install new software.
  4. The device that detects impacts on the surface of the car may not work if the settings are incorrect.
  5. Drivers often encounter the opposite problem - the system reacts to the slightest contact with the body as a result of falling leaves, wind, rain, snow, etc. You will also need help with setup here.

Another common problem that the driver cannot cope with on his own is the loss of connection between the power supply and the electromagnetic contact. The contact ensures uninterrupted opening and closing of the prior doors. To determine the problem, you need a special device - a multimeter. Depending on the reasons that caused the malfunction, reinstallation of the software or replacement of parts is required.

How to activate the immobilizer

  • To activate the immobilizer on a Priora, you will need a training key. It is almost 2 times smaller in size than the real one, and is used only during “training”. To work with it, you should adhere to the following algorithm of actions:
  • Close all door locks;
  • Insert the training key, turn it and hold it in the final position for at least 5-6 seconds, and then turn it back. During these 5-6 seconds, the indicator light on the dashboard should blink continuously. If it goes out ahead of time, it means something was done wrong.
  • Remove the training key from the ignition switch and insert the working key, start the ignition system. All this needs to be done while the light on the dashboard is flashing. If everything was done correctly, three beeps will sound first, followed by two more after a pause. If this does not happen, then the immobilizer is faulty.

How to set it up correctly

Control of the configured functions of the standard alarm is possible only after the process of its activation. The activation process itself is quite understandable and simple. It is described in detail in the technical documentation supplied with the car. However, it is much more reliable if this process is carried out directly in the salon by its employees.

If random failures occur due to a low battery, frost or other reasons, you can retrain the standard Priora alarm system yourself:

  • charge the standard battery and check the presence of fuel in the tank of the car. All doors, including the trunk and hood, must be closed;
  • insert the training key into the ignition lock cylinder;
  • turn on for 6 seconds. Priora ignition;
  • the standard immobilizer indicator lamp should blink at a frequency of 5 times/sec;
  • after 6 seconds. The Lada ignition must be turned off and the training key must be removed;
  • While the standard IMMO indication is on, insert the working key with the control key fob integrated into it;
  • Set the ignition key to the on position. Then the standard alarm will emit 3 confirming signals. After waiting for the next 2 signals, the key with the control key fob integrated into it can be pulled out by turning off the ignition;
  • if it is necessary to train a second standard key with a control key fob integrated into it, then the previous paragraph should be repeated for it;
  • in 6 seconds, when the indication is flashing, you need to insert the training key and restart the ignition of the Lada Priora;
  • The standard alarm will produce 3 clearly audible sounds. Then, within 6 seconds, it will make 2 more sounds;
  • turn off the car ignition and wait for the last single signal. The IMMO indicator lamp should flash 2 times faster;
  • at this time it is necessary to set the training key to the on position. for exactly 3 seconds. Wait for the buzzer to sound three times. The standard IMMO indicator lamp should stop flashing quickly;
  • Do not turn on the ignition for 10 seconds;
  • It is possible that the ECU will not allow the Lada Priora engine to start the first time. In this case, you should desynchronize it by turning on the ignition for 6 seconds.

Important: if an error occurs, the entire process of learning the standard alarm and working keys with control key fobs integrated into them will have to be repeated again.

How to disable the immobilizer

It is difficult to disable immo on your own, because it is activated at the car dealership upon purchase, or at a car service center only if the owner of the car expresses his desire. Disabling the immobilizer on a Priora means reprogramming the electronic immo control unit. But not everything is so simple - an adapter and software are needed to change the code, because the immobilizer operating algorithm is written in a programming language that is not basic for computer operating systems. Remember that you can disable the immobilizer only when you are sure that the car is safe.

The procedure for disabling the immobilizer may vary. It all depends on the generation of the device board - either M73 or M74 was installed in the immobilizer. Anyone who is looking for how to independently disable the immobilizer on a Priora should find a K-Line class adapter.

How to bypass the immobilizer

If a malfunction occurs in the anti-theft system, the car cannot be started with the key, the immobilizer sends a signal to the ECM to block the main systems. If the need arises to install autostart, the driver has a question about how to disable the Priora immobilizer himself.

Using a crawler

The use of an immobilizer crawler allows you to use the autostart procedure for a vehicle without dismantling or disabling the APS. You can make a device to bypass the system yourself or buy it and install it at a service station.

A simple walker consists of a relay, an inductor for pumping power to the chip, and a diode. A working key is wound to the coil, the circuit is mounted in parallel to the standard pumping coil.

Without a lineman

At the service station, a procedure is carried out to reflash the engine ECU in order to disable the immobilizer. If you have an adapter, laptop and software, you can perform this operation yourself.

To do this you need:

  1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal.
  2. Gain access to the ECM, disconnect the unit from the vehicle network.
  3. Remove it from the car.
  4. Remove the cover from the ECU, solder the resistor on the board to a position that allows reprogramming.
  5. Connect the board to the adapter that provides communication with the computer and supply power to it.
  6. Using the program, erase data from non-volatile EEPROM memory.
  7. Save changes, disconnect from computer.
  8. Resolder the resistor to its original place.
  9. Install the ECM into the vehicle's electronic system.

When this operation is carried out, the engine ECU stops receiving signals from the immobilizer.

Resolder the chip in the control unit

If there is no adapter and it is possible to supply power to the ECM during programming, it is recommended to unsolder the EEPROM memory chip. In its place, put a new clean chip or the same chip, but only reset it using a programmer.

Disconnect the control unit

Physically disabling and removing the immobilizer from the Lada Priora is not possible, because it is integrated into the car’s comfort unit circuit. Disabling the power supply unit will disable the vehicle.

For M-74, the process of turning off the immobilizer will look like this:

Disconnect the battery, disconnect the immobilizer control unit from the network. A harness with cables and a double switch is connected to the immobilizer. The circuit is connected to the battery and computer using a VAG-COM adapter. The first button of the switch is activated, it “gives the go-ahead” to change the code. The code is changed in the WinFlash program. First of all, in the settings you select the module type and the information transfer speed parameter. The second switch button is activated; it is responsible for communication between the computer and the immo control unit. The standard lock code is retained, and the Eeprom cell data is overwritten. The whole process takes a long time, but you need to wait for contact. Upon completion of the recording process, the control unit is connected back to the vehicle network, and the battery is started.

For M-73 the process will look simpler:

Installing the OpenBox program and the HxD file editor on your computer. Connecting the immobilizer to the computer via an adapter, the standard EEPROM code is read. The code is saved. Open the saved code in a file editor and add the first line with the text: FFFFFFFFFF. Save changes. But such a file can be searched on the Internet. Load the edited code into the immo memory through the program. Disconnect the module and install it in the car. Disabling the immobilizer using a crawler

It is easier to disable the immobilizer on a Priora yourself using a device - an immobilizer crawler for a Priora (most often they are produced by Starline). To do this you need:

Find and disassemble the immobilizer unit in the Priora. Before disconnecting from the network, connect to the computer via an adapter. Resolder the resistor chip to modify the blocker control module. Run Eeprom and Flash diagnostics, save existing versions. Install the “untrained” program in place of the old one. Solder the resistor chip. Deactivate the anti-theft system. To do this, you can change the ignition switch in the Priora to “update” the immobilizer. It’s just that the immobilizer training key will not be used in the future. Disabling the immobilizer without using a crawler

These methods have already been described and they are more reliable because they completely change the firmware of the device and provide a guarantee that the immobilizer will no longer break and will not leave the car owner in the cold. Using a waste module may be an innovative way, but it only masks the problem, not eradicates it.

The standard alarm system on the Lada Priora consists of the following links:

  1. Control unit – connected to the glass unit control system;
  2. Communication coil – installed in the ignition switch;
  3. Main and demonstrative keys, which are equipped with a buzzer and contact keys;
  4. Central key on the dashboard;
  5. The control unit is located on the right side of the brake pedal. It has several connection points.

Connection points for standard alarm systems on Lada Priora

  • Hood end (-) – white, black in the connector in the middle;
  • Ignition (+) – orange in the connector in the middle;
  • Button for opening the trunk lid (-) – black, white in a small connector;
  • Luggage compartment end switch (-) – black, white in a small connector;
  • Factory sound warning system - black, white on the safety panel. Owners of VAZ models change or improve the existing protection. Upgrading protection on a Priora is not difficult. To control the central locking, you need to cut the brown wire in the driver's door and connect according to the diagram.

Connecting limit switches

The alarm is connected to the Priora central locking system through limit switches using diode isolation. You can download connection diagrams on social networks.

Basic limit switches

  1. Ignition – blue, black, located in the ignition switch area;
  2. Starter – red;
  3. Turns – blue and blue with black line;
  4. Ignition – orange;
  5. The hood tip is white with a black stripe;
  6. The generator is black with a brown line.

Two schemes (simple and complex)

First of all, before connecting the alarm, you need to study the instructions included with it. The main unit always has relays installed: one of them closes when the locks are locked, the second acts on opening. The connector to which the relay contacts are connected usually has 6 pins. There is nothing complicated here.

From the instructions for the signal

In the first case, we will use only this connector. The second circuit uses another contact, called “signal output for 2-step lock opening”. Find it on the main unit.

We connect the alarm in a simple way

A push-button module is installed in the driver's door of the Lada Priora. The door trim must be removed and the connector for this module must be found:

Button block, left door

We will need a brown cord from the connector. It is a signal, and the alarm relay is connected to its break:

Diagram 1, simple connection

Two wires connected to each side of the cut cord will have to be pulled to the main unit. The common contacts of the relay are connected to one of the wires.

It must be remembered that when carrying out any installation work, first disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

All wiring in the considered circuit is signal, but this does not mean that the connection points need not be isolated. Wires should not touch metal parts of the car. If contact occurs, it is necessary to use additional protection: electrical tape, heat-resistant tube, etc.

The best option for connecting to the central locking system

Having made the connection, as discussed above, you can notice the following: all locks are activated from the key fob for closing, and only one, the driver’s, is activated for unlocking. This defect can be eliminated 100%, which will require 2 or 3 additional relays. First, let's look at where the connection points are:

BUS block, Lada Priora

The block that is visible in the photo is designated BUS-2170. It is equipped with three connectors, but we need one (three-row).

Find three wires in connector X1:

  1. Sixth (red-black). The cord goes to the actuators and is the power one.
  2. Thirteenth (green-black). Front right power window control cable.
  3. Eleventh. Same as “13”, but for the rear window lifter.

How to connect an alarm system to the central locking of a Priora Lux? Three wires are broken (all indicated), and the cables from the break points are pulled to the signaling unit. If you don't have rear power windows, the last cord will be missing. And if there are no power windows at all, cables 3 and 2 do not break (they are still missing).

The BUS unit will be installed behind the dashboard, near the gas pedal. To remove it, dismantle the side panels and unscrew two 10mm nuts. These nuts secure the block on both sides. From each of the break points, a cable is laid to the signaling system, which also applies to the brown cord coming from the door block:

Scheme 2, ideal option

Here we use additional relays (K1-K3), a 15 Ampere fuse and nothing more.

A simple scheme for connecting an alarm system to a Priora

A key module is installed in the driver's door. To find it, remove the trim. Take brown wires. He is responsible for sending the signal. Connect the signaling relay to its open. Connect the two wires that are connected to each end of the cut wire to the main unit. Relay connections are made to one end.

Complicated version

Find the 2170 bead block, identify the tri-core connector. Find the wiring: red-black, green-black, eleventh. Break all three contacts. Lead the wiring from the break point to the control unit. The difficulty is to get to the block. It is located in the gas pedal area. The front panel is removed to provide access.

Disabling the immobilizer on the Lada Priora

On the Lada Priora, as on other domestic cars, an immobilizer is installed that will block the engine ignition system when starting without a key. Along with this, this protection system often fails, so you need to know how to disable the immobilizer on a Priora if it does not start, and how to activate the immobilizer back. It is quite difficult to carry out this work, since it will require certain knowledge in electronics and the necessary tools and devices.

Description

Action
Determine where the immobilizer is located in PrioraThis requires disconnecting and removing the entire engine control unit located at the bottom of the console. For this purpose, it is necessary to unscrew the side covers of the console on both sides using a curved screwdriver and unscrew the controller, which is attached to three bolts. Then you need to disconnect the terminals and remove the control unit. After unscrewing the four screws at the edges of the block, you should disassemble it.
Modification of the control unit (resoldering the chip resistor)To do this, you need to connect the unit to the computer and, using a pack loader, read the flash and eeprom firmware, which must be saved. After this, the eeprom firmware must be installed again in the block, and then the chip resistor must be soldered in its original place.
Disable the immobilizer unit on the Priora to prevent it from being blocked during the installation processTo do this, you need to disconnect the twenty-pin connector, and the eighteenth and ninth wires need to be cut off from the connector and connect these two contacts together. The connection point must be insulated using insulating tape. Then you need to connect all the connectors to the control unit and put it in its original place. After installing the console, you can start starting the engine.

Standard alarm

The Lada Priora car is equipped with a standard electronic anti-theft remote control system, built into the glass control module, which includes the following basic functions:

  • Engine start blocking;
  • Turn on the sound and light signal remotely or after turning on the ignition using the key;
  • Locking all door locks when turning the key in the driver's door lock;
  • Unlocking and locking all doors by pressing the control button inside the car;
  • Turning on a sound and light signal when the state of the protected zones of the vehicle changes;
  • Remote locking/unlocking of door locks with simultaneous activation/deactivation of vehicle protection mode.

The anti-theft system requires the connection of an additional sensor, which is recommended by the manufacturer of the Lada Priora.

When the vehicle protection mode is operating, the following zones are monitored:

  • Hood;
  • Car doors;
  • Driver's door lock;
  • Luggage compartment lid;
  • Egnition lock;
  • Battery voltage.

Alarm Lada Priora

The standard anti-theft system includes an alarm in the following cases:

  • Unlocking the driver's door;
  • Opening car doors, trunk lid or hood;
  • Reaction of additional sensor;
  • Turning on the ignition using a foreign key;
  • Connecting the battery after disconnecting it.

The standard alarm, which is installed by the factory manufacturer of the Priora car, must be triggered when a certain key is pressed on the remote control key, which is equipped with a remote control and sends a signal to the main APS-6 unit, which issues a command to open and close the car doors. This happens only after activating the remote control using a training code key from the immobilizer.

The most common reason for the cessation of functioning of the standard anti-theft system of the Lada Priora is the remote control, or as it is abbreviated as the remote control, which is located on the ignition key.

Sometimes, in order for the anti-theft system to work, you need to press the button several times. If, after pressing the key several times, it still works, then the reason for its malfunction may be an increase in the distance between the electrical board and the button. The distance may increase due to slight sagging of the electronic board located in the remote control. This problem can be corrected by using a thin dielectric plate, placing it under the electrical board to bring the board closer to the remote control buttons. Also, the cause of a key malfunction can be the presence of small microcracks in the electronic board, and this leads to a complete malfunction of the electrical circuit. In this case, the only solution is to replace the board.

Alarm connection points

Typically, installing an alarm system on a Lada Priora car raises a question among car owners: Where are the alarm connection points on the Priora? There are a large number of alarm connection points on a Lada Priora car, but there is no need to be afraid of this. The convenience of connection lies in the fact that almost all alarm connection points are located in the electronic package controller. It is from the electronic package controller that the main wiring is taken out and the limit switches are connected. Alarm connection points can be located not only here.

Connecting the Lada Priora alarm system

So let's look at the most common alarm connection points on Priora:

  • Hood end cap – white/black on the block to the right of the gas pedal in the middle connector;
  • Ignition - orange on the block to the right of the gas pedal in the middle connector;
  • Opening the luggage compartment - blue/red on the block to the right of the gas pedal in a small connector;
  • Door limit switch - white/black on the block to the right of the gas pedal in a small connector;
  • The luggage compartment limit switch is yellow/red on the block to the right of the gas pedal in a small connector;
  • Original siren – gray/black on the front block;
  • Central locking - cut the brown wire in the driver's door and hook it up according to the diagram indicated in the alarm instructions.

Alarm installation

So, how does the independent installation of an alarm on a Priora proceed and what will be needed for this?

Required tools and materials:

  • Plastic clamps (15 pieces, 200 mm each);
  • Soldering iron 60W;
  • Phillips screwdriver PH2;
  • Slotted screwdriver v5;
  • Screwdriver TORX T20;

Review of the standard alarm system on Priora

Cars from the Volzhsky Automobile Plant usually belong to the risk group of cars, theft of which is quite possible. This statement was equally correct for the “classical” models, and it is also correct at the moment.

Key fob and its functions

The control key fob is an ergonomic, 3-button chip key without an display panel. It does not have the ability to provide interactive support for the basic alarm control functions. The main task of the key fob is to reliably transmit a control signal without monitoring its execution. Functionally it looks like this:

  • there are 3 control buttons on the key fob; right, front control button of key fob No. 1 – unlocking the Lada Priora car alarm;
  • left, front control button of key fob No. 2 – unlocking the hood or trunk;
  • central, rear control button of key fob No. 3 – activation of the car security function;
  • when pressing button No. 3;
      all Lada doors are blocked;
  • the general security mode of the Lada Priora is activated;
  • The turn signals will flash only once;
  • one beep will sound;
  • the Lada IMMO indicator lamp will begin to flash slowly;
  • by pressing (or holding) button No. 3 twice;
      the car door locks will be activated without arming it;
  • the car will give a 3x light signal;
  • When you press button No. 3 in security mode, the Lada Priora will be disarmed with the doors closed. At the same time, the turn signals will blink 2 times;
  • when you press button No. 1;
      the car will be disarmed;
  • it will give a 2x light signal;
  • the driver's door of the Lada Priora will be unlocked. The rest will be closed. To open them, press button No. 1 again;
  • if in 25 sec. none of the Lada doors will be activated, then it will be armed again;
  • button No. 2 performs its functions only if the trunk or hood is equipped with an electronic locking device;
      Pressing the key fob button once opens the trunk;
  • the next press closes;
  • You can lock the doors of a Lada Priora either using a key with a key fob or by pressing a button on the doors from inside the car.
  • Important: if, when you press the key fob buttons, the indicator LED does not light up or flashes twice, its CR2032 battery must be replaced.

    Alarm characteristics

    After modernization, the Lada Priora received a device that plays the role of a basic alarm system and received the usual name for such devices - an immobilizer. An immobilizer (from the Latin to paralyze) is a device that, interacting with the electrical control unit, allows you to shut down the operation of the engine and provides unhindered access to the car and its systems.

    By its very nature, the immobilizer security device presents itself in such a situation as a breaker of the electronic circuit that powers the car. And the driver, who has an active key with a microchip built into it, activates (turns on) or disconnects the power supply chain if necessary.

    At the same time, installing the key in the ignition switch socket is not a connecting link, but only allows you to send a signal to the necessary electrical sensor so that the necessary devices do their job. Structurally, the immobilizer protective device consists of several blocks that are connected into a single mechanism:

    Alarm activation

    In order to activate the standard alarm, you will need a training and master key, which must be issued when purchasing the car. Be sure to pay attention to this, or in the future you will have to contact the dealer separately. You will need to carry out the following actions in the prescribed manner:

    1. Fill the fuel tank (at least 10 l). This action must be performed so as not to get confused in the signals supplied by the immobilizer and to carry out the sequence of operations in strict accordance with the algorithm.
    2. First of all, you need to use the learning key, which is inserted into the ignition switch. The ignition must be turned on for a certain time (about 6 seconds), and all doors in the car must be tightly closed. Correct actions can be monitored by a rapidly flashing (about 5 times per second) indicator lamp. After this, you can turn off the ignition and remove the learning key from the lock.

    Important points for connecting the immobilizer

    1. Immediately after removing the training key, you need to quickly (until the warning light goes out) insert the main working key and turn on the ignition again. Three signals will confirm the correctness of your actions. But you need to wait for the next two signals after a certain time, after which you can turn off the ignition and remove the key.
    2. The key must remain in the lock. Confirmation of the correctness of the actions will be another, this time a single signal with a rapid blinking of the immobilizer warning lamp.
    3. Now the ignition is turned on briefly (for 2-3 seconds), and after turning it off, you need to wait for the sound signal to sound three times, and the warning lamp stops blinking. Before starting the engine, you need to take a long pause (at least 10 seconds).

    .

    At this point, immobilizer training can be considered complete. The alarm installation for the Priora may not be done correctly, or another malfunction of the security system may occur as a result of which the car engine will not be able to start. Such a failure can be monitored as follows:

    1. We turn on the ignition with the working key and after a while (usually 5-6 seconds) we visually check the warning lamp. If it blinks once per second, this mode indicates an error condition. It is enough to turn on the ignition again after 10-15 seconds for the device to resynchronize.
    2. If the error is detected again and in a situation where the light is constantly on, the entire procedure for learning the standard alarm is carried out again.

    Keep the special training key, as it may be required if it is necessary to retrain the immobilizer, or if a copy of the key is made. Cases when you have to make and use a new working key are not that rare. The technical capabilities of the protective device can be significantly expanded in practice. Often, Priora owners take advantage of additional features such as:

    • delay in turning off the interior lamp;
    • remote activation of the rear fog lamp;
    • a “forgetful” driver signal that will remind you if the driver left the key in the lock when leaving the car;
    • Reminder that external lights are not turned off.

    How to activate the immobilizer on Priora

    The APS does not undergo an activation procedure at the factory; it is carried out by a technician in the sales showroom at the request of the car buyer. If you strictly follow the instructions, you can go through it yourself using the following algorithm:

    1. With the car doors closed, turn on the car's ignition using the training key with a red insert.
    2. After 3 sound signals (squeaks) sound, remove the key from the lock.
    3. Insert the working black key and activate the ignition, the permissible duration of the procedure is 5 seconds.
    4. The system will signal with 3 beeps and after a while - 2 more.
    5. Pull out the working key and also quickly turn on the ignition with the training key.
    6. Hear a series of beeps (3+2).
    7. Turn off the ignition, do not remove the key.
    8. Wait for one beep.
    9. Turn on the ignition and do not turn it off until one beep sounds from the horn and the hazard warning light comes on briefly.
    10. Turn off the ignition and do not remove the key until the immobilizer icon on the instrument panel goes off.

    If errors were made in the procedure, the system will not activate, but it can be repeated. If the result is negative repeatedly, you must contact a service station.

    How to turn off the standard alarm?

    The main reason when it is necessary to disable the standard alarm on a Priora is its malfunction. In such situations, the car unreasonably reacts by turning on the sound signal and prevents the engine from starting. Such a failure in winter conditions poses additional inconvenience. The immobilizer is not only an additional constant consumer of energy, but may simply refuse to work normally in severe frost.

    At the first sign of incorrect operation, you should check the serviceability of the alarm control unit on the key fob. Perhaps the poor response to the signal from the key fob is due to a dead battery or the presence of radio interference in a certain place. In such situations, the control unit will only be able to receive a very close signal.

    The inability to turn off the standard alarm system on a Priora from the key fob is not an obstacle to turning it off. In this case, you need to use a secret button, which, as a rule, is installed in the cabin or next to the control unit . Check this point when purchasing a car or at the station where the alarm was installed on the car. disable the standard alarm system on the Priora by first turning on the ignition. You will need to enter a secret code (PIN code), which must be known to each owner.

    After turning off the alarm, you will also need to turn off its power. A possible malfunction may be a low battery charge level, as well as a very high current consumption by the immobilizer if it is damaged.

    Starting the engine, bypassing the working unit of the standard alarm, is done by connecting power wires, bypassing the device relay. However, if you are not sure that the wires have been identified correctly, then you should contact a specialist.
