Connectors for the standard radio and MMC Lada
All devices have the same ISO and mini-ISO connectors on the back.
The amplifier can have two groups of inputs:
- linear
- high level input
We make the connection according to any of the schemes proposed below.
Connecting the amplifier to the radio via the ISO connector
We connect the amplifier through the high-level input to the radio (speaker output).
This connection method is suitable for the average user. Music lovers are not satisfied with this method due to the large number of circuits between the radio and the amplifier (pre-amplifier, radio amplifier, external amplifier voltage divider, power amplifier), which introduce their own distortions.
Subwoofer for Lada with amplifier - a universal solution
When deciding to buy and install a sub in your car for powerful and deep bass sound, you should decide whether it will be an active or passive model. Not only the price of the device depends on this, but also the complexity of connection and setup, as well as sound power. An active Lada subwoofer with an amplifier built into the same housing as the subwoofer is easier to install and provides excellent sound, but is much more expensive than a separate passive subwoofer in the trunk or other place in the car.
It’s up to you to choose which one is more suitable for your Lada Granta car, based on your preferences and financial capabilities. Our online store employees are always ready to help with choosing a subwoofer or audio system for a Lada or any other car. Here you will find a subwoofer for the rear parcel shelf of the Granta sedan and you can buy it on excellent terms.
Connecting the amplifier to the radio via the mini-ISO connector
To implement this amplifier connection scheme, you will need to find a mini-ISO connector, which should be connected to an empty slot on the back of the standard radio of Lada cars.
It is further recommended to use high quality shielded wires.
The main advantage of this connection scheme is high sound quality.

People tell me this information. I also wanted to set up such a thing for myself on Solaris, connect
amplifier and subwoofer from
the standard
radio, went to the store to buy a sound adapter, they advised me kicx, they said that only it will work normally on Solaris, then you need to go to their specialists and they will rework some kind of polarity, in other words, something like this, Otherwise, the speakers and amplifier will overheat and burn out. What kind of garbage is this anyway and how to solve this problem, maybe someone has encountered it.
Connecting a Lada Granta subwoofer
Connecting the subwoofer to the standard Grant radio directly will not work due to the design features of the product. In order to achieve maximum quality of sound reproduction, you need to use an additional amplifier. A car ULF can be of any type and design. If a single-channel device is used, then only a bass speaker is connected to it. When using multi-channel ULF, you can completely change the interior acoustic systems, which are not of high quality, and install high-level acoustics with crossovers. Connecting the amplifier to Grant's standard radio begins with determining the location for its installation. Typically, a car's low-frequency unit is placed in the luggage compartment, next to the low-frequency speaker.
After installing the unit, you need to connect power wires and audio signal lines to it. The power is connected by a special power cable, the cross-section of which is selected depending on the power of the amplifier. At a distance of 10-15 cm from the car battery, you need to install a fuse block. Its rating should not exceed 50 A. The negative power terminal is connected to the vehicle ground. The signal from the radio output can be supplied in two ways. On the back wall of the car radio there are standard rectangular connectors.
To connect a low-frequency device, yellow contacts from blocks “B” and “C” can be used. They are designated ISO and mini-ISO respectively. On block “B” there are contacts for connecting front and rear speaker systems, and on block “C” there are linear ULF outputs of the standard radio. The automotive low frequency unit can be equipped with line inputs and high level inputs. The connection of the amplifier to the standard grant button radio can be done through the contacts of the ISO block with the index “B”. The signal intended for the operation of speaker systems cannot be fed directly to the input of the low-frequency system. The output voltage is too high and may damage the input semiconductors of the external system. To correctly connect a car radio and an external power amplifier or unit, you need to use level converters. They can be bought at any specialized store. The front panel of the converter indicates how to solder the connecting wires. The device combines the front and rear channels and reduces the output voltage level to a safe value.
The converted signals of the right and left channels are output to “Tulip” type connectors. They can be supplied to the inputs of an additional low-frequency block. There may be a problem with laying cable lines to the amplifier. To do this, you need to use high-quality shielded wires with central copper cores. It is not recommended to use copper-plated steel wires to connect the converter and the amplification unit.
Speakers in the rear doors of Grant: what you need to know
Installation of speakers in the rear doors on the Grant is possible due to the availability of space for speakers in the rear doors. You can also additionally perform sound insulation and vibration insulation, which has a positive effect on sound quality and overall acoustic comfort.
It is important to understand that it is important not only to place the speaker under the door card, but also to protect the speakers from mechanical damage from the outside. The fact is that on the rear doors of the Grant the place for installing speakers is not the best. For this reason, it is necessary to separately protect the speakers using a mesh or cladding, which is separately modified and a protective “grill” is attached.
So, installing Lada Granta speakers requires the presence of the following elements:
- acoustics suitable in size and installation depth, speaker protection (decorative mesh);
- wires for connecting (provided there is no wiring and connector in the door as standard) to the crossover and radio, as well as connectors for car audio;
- fastening the speaker to the door (standard bracket - catalog number 21907901032 for the right door and 21907901033 for the left);
Connecting a Grant subwoofer
The amplifier can be connected to the standard Grant Lux radio via a mini-ISO connector. This connector, located on the rear panel of the radio, carries four sound signals from the linear outputs of the built-in unit. An adapter with connected “Tulip” type connectors is inserted into it. The Grant MMC subwoofer (multimedia system) is connected through the linear inputs of the external low-frequency unit. When connecting a low-frequency speaker, difficulties may arise with the configuration of the entire sound system. You can leave the standard car speakers, which will work through the ISO connector. Linear outputs from the mini-ISO connector must be combined through an adder and a signal sent to the input of a single-channel block. It will only work on the bass speaker. In the adder, you can combine only the outputs to the front speakers, leaving the two rear channels free. You can use two rear channels for the low-frequency system, and feed two front channels to a separate low-frequency unit, which is loaded onto powerful broadband speakers.
How to connect a subwoofer to a standard radio, without line outputs
There is a desire to listen to your favorite performers while driving, there is a car radio, but, unfortunately, it does not give the desired effect, the music plays, but I would like something more powerful. This is why you need a subwoofer, but connecting a subwoofer is still accompanied by some difficulties. Like any other amplifier, you need to supply power to it, and also connect the cable through which the audio signal will be transmitted.
And here, if you are not an advanced radio amateur, you can reach a dead end, because in the car radio you do not find a single hole where you could connect the desired amplifier. A logical question arises: is it possible at all, and if possible, how to connect amplifier for standard radio?
1) Purchasing a new radio
The first method is good for those who are poorly versed in the radio business, but do not have any special financial restrictions. You just need to go to a car store and buy a new, more modern radio, and it is quite possible that all the issues will be resolved by themselves. This method is really not bad, but it requires some formalities. For example, your car must support the original head unit you purchase. Also, the radio must have a support function so that the connected subwoofer works and gives excellent sound. Well, the last important point is the cost of head units; with the current crisis, their price has jumped to the price of spaceships. But, as already written above, if money is not a problem, then everything is solved immediately, otherwise read on.
2) Contact radio amateurs
So, if you are not a millionaire, and also do not understand wires very well, then your best option would be to seek help from experienced radio amateurs.
You can find them in small workshops. Some specialists literally in a matter of minutes, right before your eyes, will disassemble your radio, solder additional wires and bring them out to RCA connectors. The scheme is simple, but 100% working. You can then connect an amplifier or subwoofer to the output contacts. If the master is good, he will provide you not only with excellent sound, but also complete safety inside the car.
3) Install linear converter
The next option is suitable for those people who themselves are poorly versed in the intricacies of radio engineering, but do not want to turn to others. In this situation, the best solution is to purchase a level converter. It is through it that it will be possible to connect two devices to each other, a head unit without the outputs we need and a subwoofer or amplifier. You can buy this converter at any car audio store. This device itself is simple, and therefore we will not delve into its internal world, but on the outside it has two tulips on one side (the so-called audio connectors - RCA), and on the other there are four wires.
Even a schoolchild can cope with connecting the converter, the main thing is not to confuse the contacts; plus and minus are connected to the right speaker, the remaining two wires are connected to the left speaker. That's it, your high-level frequencies turn into low-level frequencies and you enjoy the music to the fullest extent possible. And one more important point is that due to such a connection, all your electronics will be completely safe.
4) Choose an amplifier or subwoofer with a low-level input
The last option is perhaps the simplest, but again it all comes down to money. That is, having a certain amount on hand, you again go to the electronics store and buy a so-called active subwoofer or amplifier with a low-level input. Also, without delving into the principle of its operation, we note that this device already has a linear converter built-in. You connect it to the speakers according to the instructions and enjoy the music.
