The control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning of the Lux version of the system is somewhat different from the control of the Comfort system.
The control functions of rotary handles 9 and 17, push-button switches 18 and 19 are similar to those in the “Comfort” version.
Regulating the air temperature in the cabin
Using handle 9, the air temperature in the cabin is set; information about the set temperature is displayed on the information board 10, left zone. You can set the temperature from 18 to 26 degrees in 1 degree increments, or the minimum (LO) or maximum (HI) temperature.
ATTENTION!
When the “AUTO” mode is turned off (manual control mode), the digital temperature value on the information display is indicative and serves only to inform the driver about the approximate air temperature that will be established in the cabin under existing conditions.
In this case, the air temperature in the cabin is not maintained automatically, because There is no temperature regulation. The actual air temperature in the cabin will depend on weather conditions, solar radiation intensity, driving mode, direction and speed of air flows and some other factors. To automatically maintain thermal comfort in the cabin, you must turn on the “AUTO” mode. When setting the maximum temperature (turning knob 9 clockwise), the letters “HI” (Highest) light up on the information board 10 (left zone); further rotation of the knob does not increase the set temperature. At the same time, air is supplied to the cabin at the maximum possible temperature; temperature regulation does not occur. The maximum supply air temperature depends on the outside air temperature, engine fluid temperature (engine warm-up), cabin fan speed and some other factors.
When setting the minimum temperature (turning the knob counterclockwise), the letters “LO” (Lowest) light up on information display 10 (left zone); further rotation of the knob does not lead to a decrease in the set temperature. In this case, air is supplied to the cabin at the lowest possible temperature; temperature regulation does not occur. The minimum temperature of the supplied air depends on the outside temperature, the intensity of solar radiation, the speed of the interior fan, the activation of the air conditioner, the activation of recirculation, the driving mode and some other factors.
To cool the incoming air below the outside temperature, turn on the air conditioner (button 18).
ATTENTION!
When using the air conditioner of the “Comfort” version in conditions of high air humidity and outside temperature from minus 3°C to plus 5°C, it is recommended to turn on the air conditioner fan at least at speed 3 to avoid freezing of the cooler.

Lada Vesta entered the Russian open spaces. The creators of this car presented many convenient options, promising a comfortable ride for the driver and passengers. Among other things, they promised climate control, which is already commonplace for foreign cars.
The first sales of Vesta have long passed, but the promised innovation has not yet appeared in the showroom. The factory installs a standard set - a heater for the cold season and an air conditioner for the hot season. It was decided to postpone the introduction of the combined system a little, but it will be introduced into the Lada Vesta, according to the plant management, without fail.
Defrost MAX mode
The “Defrost MAX” mode provides the most effective cleaning of the windshield, rear window, front side windows and outside rear view mirrors from fogging, frost or ice.
To turn on the “Defrost MAX” mode, press button 24, the button indicator light will light up. At the same time, the air conditioning is forcibly turned on (if conditions permit), electrical heating of the windshield and rear windows and exterior rear-view mirrors. The entire air flow is directed to the blower nozzles of the windshield and front side windows, and the maximum speed and air temperature are set.
To turn off the heated rear window and exterior mirrors, press button 24, the button indicator light will go out.
To turn off the “Defrost MAX” mode, press button 24 again, the button indicator light will go out.

Climate control on the Lada Vesta has two modes of operation: automatic and driver-controlled.

Manual control has the following functions:
- Ventilation in the legs;
- Blowing the glazing of the interior and legs.
It is now possible to use functions using heating:

- Blowing windshield and side windows;
- Ventilation of the leg area;
- The climate control system has the ability to direct hot air flow to the windshield.
Auto
When you press the AUTO key, the control unit independently not only supplies the desired air temperature to the Lada’s interior, but also controls:
- Air flow speed with the value displayed on the display;
- Distributes air flows through certain deflectors;
- Controls the temperature of the supplied air;
- Depending on the environment, it switches on recirculation and air conditioning modes.
You should know that you cannot use a closed air intake damper for a long time, as in this case the windows will fog up and an unpleasant odor will appear in the cabin, and the driver may experience oxygen starvation, which will lead to an emergency.
AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL (AUTO MODE)
To turn on the automatic control mode of the climate system (automatic climate control), press button 20 “AUTO”, the button indicator light will light up.
Using handle 9, set a comfortable air temperature in the cabin. Comfortable temperature can be set in the range from 18 to 26 degrees in 1 degree increments.
Also, by rotating knob 9, you can set the minimum (LO) or maximum (HI) temperature mode. Information about the set temperature value is displayed on information board 10, left zone.
The automatic mode is turned off when the air flow speed is changed by handle 17.
Features of operation in “AUTO” mode:
- when you turn on button 20 “AUTO”, the air is distributed in all directions (control indicators of buttons 21, 22 and 23 do not light up);
- when you press any of the buttons 21, 22 and 23 (or any combination of them), the air flow is distributed in accordance with the selected directions. In this case, the control indicator on the “AUTO” button 20 goes off, but the automatic mode is maintained, as evidenced by the absence of the fan symbol and its speed scale on the information board 10;
- When you press button 24 “Defrost MAX”, the control indicator of button 20 “AUTO” goes off, the climate system switches to Defrost MAX mode. When you press the “Defrost MAX” button 24 again, the “Defrost MAX” mode turns off and the climate system goes into the “AUTO” mode (the indicator light on button 20 will light up);
- after turning off the ignition, the backlight of the information display 10 can remain for 2-3 minutes;
- It is possible for buttons 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 to turn on briefly when the door is opened with the ignition off.
Benefits of installing climate control
What benefits did car owners receive after installing a climate system?
- The set temperature regime is maintained automatically. If necessary, the control unit adjusts the set mode. Manual adjustment is not necessary.
- The system includes an efficient electronic unit. It makes it easy to set temperature changes. Therefore, cooling and heating are carried out quickly.
- Car drivers concentrate on the road and maneuver. The temperature or air supply is not adjusted. All these actions are performed automatically. If necessary, reprogram the control unit.

Does climate control improve fuel economy?

I would like to raise a few questions about the operation of the Lada Vesta car systems. The climate control system in the car completely suits me. There are, of course, some problems with the climate control in the control wheels. But these are minor things. I would like to touch on a point that no one talks about.
Auto mode
When the climate system is working and the air conditioner button is on, and you try to turn it off, the “auto” mode is turned off at this time. This means that the automatic mode no longer works. Many people think that the “auto” continues to work. In fact, you no longer have automatic air control.
21 degrees was remembered by default from the previous automatic operation of the climate system. This temperature will not be constantly maintained for you, just like automatic air flows. If you are driving and it is -10 degrees outside, then the system will not see the previous setting. The cabin will become colder. To keep it warmer, to maintain the set temperature, you must always press the “Auto” button.
Minuses
The disadvantage I wanted to mention is that the temperature is not regulated by half degrees. For example, 22.5 degrees has always been considered optimal. But it is impossible to set such a temperature in the Lada Vesta. You can set it to 22 or 23 degrees. I believe that half a degree means a lot to the body. The person feels it.
Why does the speed fluctuate when the air conditioner is turned on on the Lada Granta?
Sometimes 22 degrees is a little cold, and 23 is a little hot. But this, of course, is already nit-picking. I repeat that the climate control functions of the Lada Vesta completely suit me 100 percent. Tested in cold weather of -28 degrees – it heats up instantly, the engine warms up quickly. What shortcomings have already been identified?
Despite the short period of time that has passed since the Lada Vesta left the assembly line, some shortcomings in the operation of the equipment have already been discovered.
- The climate control flaps move with a quiet crunch that can alert the driver.
- The bottom airflow is not directed towards the pedals, but slightly higher. A strange decision for a country where severe frosts are common and shoes need to be heated.

On models currently being produced, even in the “sophisticated” modification of the Lada Vesta, the driver must manually switch the heating or cooling modes. This is manual climate control. To maintain the desired temperature, a complex consisting of a “stove”, an air conditioner and a fan is used. The mode control panel is located on the center console just above the gearshift lever.
The panel interface on currently produced Vesta cars is clear and easy to master in a few steps. The left handle (vernier) regulates the temperature of the air supplied to the cabin. Switching from heater to air conditioner is done by simply pressing this vernier. By turning the right knob you can change the fan modes. When you press it, air recirculation is turned on or it switches to natural air flow.
