How to open the trunk without a key?
For some reason, the problem of how to open the trunk if the key is lost most often arises among VAZ owners. We will focus our attention on these cars. So, you can get inside the locked trunk from the passenger compartment. At the top, the back of the rear seat of a classic VAZ is attached with two guides; at the bottom there are two hinges, which are visible from the rear door. At this point we bend the tabs welded to the car body, pull off the bottom of the backrest and push it up. Thus, the path to the partition between the passenger compartment and the trunk becomes open. We move the partition aside and start making a knob extension with a 10 mm head at the end, otherwise we won’t be able to get the lock fastening nuts. To avoid dropping the head, it is better to tape it to the collar with tape. And, of course, we need a flashlight. It’s good if you can unscrew both lock nuts the first time, but even if not the first time, it’s not that difficult to do. An open trunk door will be our reward. Although you shouldn’t rush to disassemble half the interior. It is likely that the trunk lock of our VAZ will be opened with some other key, even if taken from the neighbors.
Other methods are also known. In the case of a VAZ 2106, for example, you need to take a not very thick but strong slotted screwdriver and insert it into the gap between the body and the trunk lid directly under the lock. You can try to open an old, designed lock with any key of less or the same thickness as the “original” one. It must be inserted carefully, no deeper than 0.5-1.0 cm while trying to turn it. Some craftsmen even perform this operation with a long slotted screwdriver.
The trunk can be opened using the door key. It must be inserted vertically, and once inserted, rotate it 90° to a horizontal position. After turning it, take out the key and press harder on the lock cylinder with your finger. Well, a completely radical method is to open the lock with a strong kick of the foot just below the lock, but we will not recommend this to our readers.
How to get to the salon
Gaining access to the interior of a VAZ-2107 will not be difficult, since additional security systems are usually not installed on this car. To gain access to the interior, you can use wire or fishing line. Let's look at each option in detail:
- In the VAZ-2107, standard buttons with a larger diameter “cap” are installed on the doors. They are the ones who can help get rid of the problem of a locked door. Find a fishing line or thin rope that is long enough that you can make a loop in it and still have about 1.5 meters left. The loop should be in the center of the fishing line so that you can tighten it by the loose ends. There is a small gap in the upper left corner of the door through which you can push the fishing line inside the cabin. If it is too small, then take a wooden wedge and widen the opening. Next, all you need is sleight of hand - you need to hook the bolt by the upper part with a loop, tighten the fishing line, after which all you have to do is pull up to lift it.
- The second option is to make a special tool from wire. Take a piece of thick wire that will hold its shape well. Its length should be equal to the height of the door. You can take it a little longer, about 3-4 centimeters, to make a hook bent at 45 degrees. Carefully inspect the door; you need to find the place where the edge of the rubber seal is located (between the window and the door body). Bend the seal to get inside the door. A couple of centimeters of free space is enough to lower the wire. It should collide with the locking mechanism, which you need to go around and plunge the rod below. After this, move the wire to the center and feel the lock lever with the hook, pull it up.
These simple manipulations will help you open the door with minimal damage to the car. The last option is the most gentle - you just need to put the seal back in place, and there will be no traces of tampering on the door.

I also bent the lock spring so that it would close better and lengthened the levers by which the drive pulls (previously the handle for opening the interior was pulled by it). There was no welding, I had to cut a piece of tin to the size of the hole from the outer handle and put it on self-tapping screws (they sit in the holes from the bolts almost under the face) I ground off the protruding metal a little with an angle grinder and filled it with putty.
