How to save a sagging door in 15 minutes: 3 simple ways
Over the life of the vehicle, the joints wear out. This often leads to the door sagging. Because of this, when closing, the lock will hit the latch pin. Fixing such problems is quite simple.
Most often, the front doors on the driver's side are the first to fail because they are used more often than others. This happens because the bushings inside the hinge are worn out.
In addition, the door mount may be pressed under the weight of this hinged body element. Sagging may be a consequence of an accident or improper installation. To solve this problem, in many cases it is necessary to change the hinges. On the other hand, the problem can often be solved in simpler ways.
Final door adjustment
Adjusting a door after replacing pins or hinges is about aligning the locks to the normal level for precise closure of the catch. If you plan to replace them, then it is better to focus on the so-called silent locks. They cost slightly more, but allow the closing mechanism itself to not wear out so quickly. When installing them, you can select any level. They work on the principle of a classic latch. At the moment of closing, they do not create additional resistance, so the door will close even with a slight push. The lock will no longer be able to open while moving.
After installing the hinges or fingers, you need to use a building level to check whether the VAZ door is level.
If yes, you can start adjusting. It is best to do this from a clamp. Everything with it is quite simple - we move it a little higher and towards the cabin. You can do this a few millimeters at a time until the closing force is minimal.
Before replacing pins or hinges, you should determine exactly what is causing the doors to be beveled. It may be enough to just make an adjustment, or maybe you will have to completely change the fasteners.
Before painting the doors, the main thing is not to forget to deal with the door hinges. By themselves, they are almost eternal if lubricated. But who lubricates them? that’s why there are problems (then you find bolts inserted instead of hinges)
Read more: Where is region 116 located?
So don’t be lazy, buy a can of penetrating lubricant and spray it on the hinges, they’ll last longer!
And instead of a bolt, I inserted a hardened axle (from some kind of photocopier, a scanner ruler guide, you can get these at office equipment repair shops for almost free)
Having previously made cuts for lubrication and filled with lubricant
I actually filmed the axle repair on video, watch it!
And then I tried on the door trims. The manufacturer is unknown, obviously some kind of cooperative, from the designation - the name of the door trim VAZ-2110L (probably luxury) Syzran
They look good, the quality is cooperative, but tolerable
But the problem with the fastening is that it doesn’t “dance” plus or minus from half a centimeter to a centimeter + the fasteners are of different heights.

And in words - I will install fasteners from the doors of the Passat B2-B4, there are convenient brackets and fastening with self-tapping screws to the end of the casing. And no breaking pistons
And the painting... I didn’t have time to prepare everything today, I was working on Confidence, come back tomorrow!)
The car is already a little over 10 years old and the hinges on the huge sliding doors are already very worn out, the doors sagged and moved up and down a lot. I have often seen on the Internet that it is possible, without changing the hinges, to replace only the fingers and the moving part of the hinge. It is recommended to use Opel fingers, because... they are stronger and less likely to get dirty. In addition to the hinges, I decided to immediately replace the locks, limiters and everything that had become unusable.
It was purchased: - Ordered with Emex fingers Opel 01 32 608 or an analogue from General Motors 90518425 4 pcs - Hinges assembled VAZ 2110 or 2108 (I took 2110 for myself) 4 pcs - Door opening limiters VAZ 2110 2 pcs - Brano door locks (only right , the left one was not found in my city.) 2 Pieces - Silent lock fingers 2 Pieces - Internal door locks 2108 2 Pieces
I didn't want to remove the doors, but I had to because... The width of the garage was enough for me to fully open the door and reach the hinges with a tool. I started with the passenger side.
He took it off and started grinding and drilling out the flaring to get the fingers out.
As a result, after suffering for half a day, I could not make out a single loop. The upper loop stuck in the middle part, instead of spinning, and the finger did not want to come out at all. The finger from the lower loop also did not move even half a millimeter. After talking with my father, we decided to weld new loops. Everything went well. I assembled the loops on Opel's fingers. To prevent the fingers from spinning along with the loop, they need to be secured with something. I made all four loops in a different way. Initially, I wanted to drill, tap and tighten the bolt, but I didn’t have a tap for 4. Therefore, the simplest and most convenient way was a metal screw.

With the driver's door everything was much simpler. In one evening, I knocked out the old fingers and installed new ones, replacing the middle part of the hinge.
I painted the thing with red spray paint and put the doors in place. The hinges were lubricated with lithium grease. I replaced the limiters on the removed doors.
Next were the castles. The first thing I did was replace the lock fingers. The locks themselves were silent Ptimash ones, but in the vastness of Drive I saw that they were installing locks from Volga 31105, supposedly these are the quietest locks that can be installed. They are sold in the GAZ department. When I bought it, I didn’t notice that they gave me different ones, I only saw them at home.
Arriving again at the store, they told me that there were no left Branos left, only right ones, so they gave me another one. By the way, their prices are different, Brano is more expensive. Okay, I went to other stores, but they weren’t there at all. There is nothing to do, I picked up both locks, twisted them, turned them, in principle there were minimal differences, I decided that I would install them. I’ll say right away that before installation, it’s better to cut down this corner, which is not on the original locks, because... most likely it will interfere. But this is not the case for everyone.
I struggled with adjusting the BRANO lock for a very long time. For some reason the outside door handle was very difficult to work. Adjusting the rods didn't help. I've already cleaned and lubricated the inner lock, but it's still tight. In general, I somehow set it up.
I also had to tinker with the driver's door. There was a strong wear on the inner lock, and therefore it was difficult to press the lever of the outer lock. I bought right and left internal locks. I slightly adjusted the rods and the lock mate and voila, the door opens with one finger. By the way, while I was trying to adjust the lock, I broke it... due to the fact that I did not cut off the corner right away, it hit the mate and the lock cracked, but this did not greatly affect the work, especially since ideally it needs to be replaced with BRANO.
I later replaced the interior lock on the passenger door, but the exterior handle is still a bit stiff.
Regarding the quietness of the locks: The quietest lock is BRANO. Then the silent Gas Ptimash is the loudest, but this is relative to the Volga locks, so it also works quietly.
As a result of the work done, the doors do not hang around and close and open well. The only thing that upset me was the limiters; they are of little use, because... by design they are such that they hold the door only at the very end. By the way, when I removed the doors, I partially replaced the pistons, because over the year the Kalinovsky ones had become loose just like the Christmas trees.
Pieces of tin
A sagging body part can be lifted on almost any car. Most often, the driver's door sags, and when closed, it rises slightly. The pins on the top and bottom hinges wear out over time. You can easily correct such sagging on your own, without having any special knowledge or skills.
Work must be carried out in the following order:
- slightly loosen the two bolts on the lower canopy, which is attached directly to the door;
- take four pieces of tin in the shape of the letter “P”, 1.5-2 mm thick, with a central hole diameter of 10 mm;
- install two of them on each bolt between the canopy and the door, lifting it;
- tighten the bolts by hand;
- check several times how the repaired element closes;
- At the last stage, tighten the bolts well.
This procedure does not take much time, does not require special skills, abilities, or money. The problem can be solved in this way in 5-15 minutes. Compared to washers, such tin spacers are easier to install on a bolt, since it does not need to be completely unscrewed.
For this method, you only need a bolt corresponding to the diameter of the finger, which is best wrapped with insulating tape in order not to damage the paint. Insert the bolt in the area of the lower hinge between the door surface and the body with the head facing up. After this, gently press on the door surface several times.
It is important not to overdo it, since getting the door back will be much more difficult. As a result of this procedure, it falls into place and the sagging is eliminated.
Thus, the order of this procedure will be as follows:
- place the bolt from the inside on the bottom hinge so that it hangs on its very edge;
- carefully tighten the bolt inside by closing the door;
- completely close the door to evaluate the result.
This simple technology allows you to eliminate sagging in most cases.
Why do doors sag?
There are several reasons that affect the reliability of door fixation and sagging:
- The hinges and axles are badly worn. The door of the vases began to close poorly, and when opening it required considerable force.
- The fastening has become loose and a metallic creak is heard when driving on uneven roads.
- The pairing of the door fixing elements was broken: the hinges were skewed, and cracks formed in the door body. This leads to uneven gaps and the appearance of water in the cabin after rain.
- The door was hit in an accident.
- The doors have not been installed or adjusted correctly.
How to fix sagging doors
Advice: Before carrying out work, it is necessary to determine the cause of the sagging.
Why the door sagged, a small test can help:
- With both hands you need to grab the bottom of the door and, with slight loosening, check the gap in the vertical plane. Play in the VAZ 2110 door hinge is not allowed.
- The door is grasped with hands from above and below. Then you need to try to turn it in a horizontal axis; there should be no movement of the door, no gap is allowed.
- A visual inspection is made of the places where the door hinges are fixed to the car body on a VAZ 2110 car, the hinges of the sagging door are compared with the same elements of a working one, the differences in them are determined and a conclusion is made.
Once the cause of the sagging is identified, repairs can begin. It could be:
- If the door sag due to excessive wear on the hinge axis, it is necessary to replace the pin in the VAZ 2110 door hinge.
- If the entire mechanism has signs of wear or wear, then the VAZ 2110 door hinge assembly needs to be replaced, then the price will be less than installing several new parts simultaneously with heavily worn elements.
After replacing failed parts, it is necessary to adjust the door position. For this:
Tip: To make the adjustment procedure easier, it is better to remove the mating part.
- The door is closed and its best vertical position is visually determined.
- If the door line runs parallel to the body, and the door itself is shifted down or up, it is necessary to slightly loosen the fixation of the upper and lower hinges and raise or lower the door. After this, secure the position with a fixing screw.
- If the corner of the door, the end of which is equipped with a lock, is located slightly below the desired level, while the door hinges on the VAZ 2110 are working properly, the fixation of the lower hinge is unscrewed and the door position is leveled. To do this, thin metal plates or washers are placed under the loop itself, as shown in the photo.
Installing a washer to eliminate door sagging
- If the edge on which the door lock is located is pulled up strongly, then the fixation of the upper hinge is unscrewed, and the adjusting plates are placed under it.
Forceful lifting
If you have no time or desire, you can try the following:
- grab the back of the slightly open door at the lock level and lift it up;
- in this case, depending on the visible result, the applied force should increase;
- You can try to first slightly lift and then sharply pull the door up.
If you don't have enough strength, you can use a jack. Place a wooden block between this device and the bottom of the door. This will prevent possible damage to the paintwork. In this way, you can return the hinged body element to its original position. On the other hand, such a procedure, of course, does not guarantee the durability of the result, so it is better to pay attention to the first two options (with a piece of tin and with a bolt).
Replacing pins in hinges
So, if the repair only involves replacing the fingers, then the first thing you will need to do is remove the door to gain access to the hinges (3-4 fasteners are simply unscrewed, depending on the model). Next, the fingers are knocked out. If they do not come out due to corrosion or deformation, then you should first thoroughly fill everything with WD-40 to remove the rust and repeat the operation. If this fails, you will have to drill out the pins or replace the hinges completely.
When installing new pins, be sure to lubricate them with grease or oil, and after installation, adjust the door (lower or raise it a few millimeters through a tightening rod). The door should fit accurately into the catch when closing without additional physical effort. Otherwise, the wear and tear on both doors and hinges will be much higher. After 1-2 years of such operation, you will have to completely replace the door along with the hinges.
The main difficulty in repairing VAZ door hinges is to correctly knock out the pins (the same fingers). It’s most convenient to just rivet it and then straighten the loop if necessary. The most aesthetic method is to drill out each end of the finger, after which its edges are ground off or simply squeezed. The drill is immediately taken to the minimum size, then gradually increases literally by millimeter. This will take quite a lot of time, but the loop will not be damaged.

If the finger has other deformations, it may be necessary to make a through hole through the pins. This will not prevent the use of new fingers in the future. For this purpose, either an impact screwdriver or a powerful drill with a high-quality drill bit (carbon steel is ideal) will be useful.
What to do if your car door is sagging
Signs of a sagging car door:
- The doors do not close well or require force to open them.
- When driving over uneven surfaces, the doors squeak (metal squeak).
- After rain, water appears in the cabin.
- There are scratches on the sills.
- Due to the skew of the door, uneven gaps appear.
You should start by tightening the door hinge bolts. If this doesn't help, then try the following tips:
When do you need to replace VAZ 2110 door hinges?
Installing a hinge for a VAZ 2110 car door
Car doors, like the doors of a house, should look beautiful and reliable, easy to open and close. Big troubles are associated with a sagging door; it is not only not aesthetically pleasing, but also inconvenient. It may make a creaking or dull knock; if it is not closed tightly, water will flow into the cabin. One of the ways to eliminate defects is to replace the hinges on the doors of the VAZ 2110. The article suggests that you familiarize yourself with doing the work yourself.
Stories from our readers
“Fucking basin. "
Hi all! My name is Mikhail, now I’ll tell you a story about how I managed to exchange my two-wheeler for a 2010 Camry. It all started with the fact that I began to be wildly irritated by the breakdowns of the two-wheeler, it seemed like nothing serious was broken, but damn it, there were so many little things that really started to irritate me. This is where the idea arose that it was time to change the car to a foreign car. The choice fell on the melting Camry of the tenth years.
Yes, I had matured morally, but financially I just couldn’t handle it. I’ll say right away that I am against loans and taking a car, especially not a new one, on credit is unreasonable. My salary is 24k a month, so collecting 600-700 thousand is almost impossible for me. I started looking for different ways to make money on the Internet. You can’t imagine how many scams there are, what I haven’t tried: sports betting, network marketing, and even the volcano casino, where I successfully lost about 10 thousand ((The only direction in which it seemed to me that I could make money was currency trading on the stock exchange, they call it Forex. But when I started delving into it, I realized that it was very difficult for me. I continued to dig further and came across binary options. The essence is the same as in Forex, but it’s much easier to understand. I started reading forums, studying trading strategies. I tried it on a demo account, then opened a real account. To be honest, I didn’t manage to start earning money right away, until I understood all the mechanics of options, I lost about 3,000 rubles, but as it turned out, it was a precious experience. Now I earn 5-7 thousand rubles a day. I managed to get the car buy after half a year, but in my opinion this is a good result, and it’s not about the car, my life has changed, I naturally quit my job, I have more free time for myself and my family. You’ll laugh, but I work directly on the phone)) If If you want to change your life like me, then here’s what I advise you to do right now: 1. Register on the site 2. Installation of a ready-made kit
If you decide to buy a ready-made set - VAZ Euro trim panels Lux 2, you will get a more stylish version of the interior.
In addition, such plastic panels improve sound insulation, which is always important for VAZ.
You can also install them yourself.
Door trim VAZ 2110 Lux
We have already talked about how removal is carried out, and now about some of the subtleties of installing Lux 2 upholstery:
- The kit usually includes only the upholstery panels themselves in the amount of 4 pieces. Everything else for them - caps, meshes for the speakers - needs to be purchased.
- Don’t really believe sellers who claim that the Lux 2 upholstery will exactly fit the doors of the VAZ 2110. Don’t be surprised if some of the clips don’t fit, usually 2 of them in the front door, and 1 in the rear.
- Be sure to secure the bottom of the casing with long self-tapping screws.
- If your front doors are not equipped with power windows, you will have to make holes for the handles.
- With conventional window lift handles, a gap will form in the rear doors, which will need to be masked, for example, using a piece of hose. However, it would be better to immediately install electric windows on all doors - it’s convenient, plus the trim panels will fall into place without problems.
How to straighten car doors
The “old-fashioned” way is to fight sagging with your own hands. That is, we take our hands by the back of the door, where the lock is, not the hinges, and lift it up. The door should be slightly open so that you can comfortably grab it with your hands. First, apply a little effort and look at the result. If this is not enough, then we increase the effort according to the situation. If there is no effect at all, then try first slightly lifting the door (it will rise along with the body), and then sharply pull it up.
How to eliminate sagging driver's door without replacing hinges.
The first step is to tighten the mounting bolts. If this is unsuccessful, you can try the following methods:
- We fight sagging with our own hands. We lift the back part (where the lock is located) of the driver's door up with our hands, while it should be slightly open so that you can easily grab it with your hands. You need to start with the most minimal effort and see the result. If there are no changes, then according to the situation we increase the applied force. If there is no effect at all, you should first try to lift it slightly, and then sharply pull it up. For this method, you can use a jack. In this case, the actions are similar. The door should also be slightly open, and the force should be gradually increased. To avoid causing damage, the jack is used through a block placed under its edge. Such manipulations generally solve the problem, but for a short time, because after bending the door will return to its original position, that is, to a sagging state. The next method is the most reliable.
- We remove the sagging of the driver's door using washers. So, before you begin, you will need to purchase several washers (20 mm - outer diameter, 10 mm - hole diameter), and they should have different thicknesses. When choosing, you need to take into account that the thicker the washer, the more sagging it can handle. If the sagging is small, then a thickness equal to one millimeter is suitable, but if it is decent, one and a half millimeters. To use the washer for its intended purpose, you need to do the following: place a block, then using a large lever (or an impact screwdriver) unscrew the bottom bolt (used in the fastening), then insert the washer under the hinge, while pulling the door towards you, and then install and tighten back bolt. This method is quite simple, but sometimes it is not possible to use it, because the bolt sometimes does not even yield to an impact screwdriver. In this case, you should turn to the next method.
- A bolt is used to fix the problem. A pin-sized bolt is required. The procedure will be as follows: first we place the bolt on the bottom hinge from the inside with the head up (it should hang on the very edge of the hinge), and then we clamp the bolt inside, carefully closing the door (to avoid the bolt falling), then we close it completely and evaluate the result .
If necessary, all steps must be repeated.
Remove sagging doors using washers
You will need to prepare several washers with an outer diameter of 20mm and a hole diameter of 10mm. The washers should be of different thicknesses; the thicker the washer, the more sagging of the door it will eliminate. For a heavily sagging door, a washer with a thickness of 1.5 mm may be suitable, and for a slightly sagging door, about 1 mm.
To place the washer you will need to place a block under the door, and then:
- Unscrew the lower door mounting bolt. Please note that to unscrew this bolt you will need to use an impact screwdriver or a large lever.
- Pull the door towards you a little, and then slide the washer under the hinge.
- Install the bolt and tighten it back.
This simple and proven method is sometimes not possible to put into practice. Sometimes it is not possible to unscrew the required bolt even with an impact screwdriver; in this case, you can consider another method:
External alignment
In this way, you can repair all dented parts that can be accessed from the outside, including doors. There are several options for removing defects using this technology. One of them is carried out using glue and special equipment, represented by an applicator and a mini-lifter. Repairs begin by gluing the applicator to the damaged area. After the glue has completely dried, you need to pull out the central point of the dent with a mini-lifter, and at the end of the work you need to remove the remaining glue from the car body.
Following the same principle of straightening dents from the outside of the part, you can pull out the defect with a piston or similar non-specialized devices, such as suction cups. As in the first case, the surface of the dent needs to be sealed with glue and a suction cup attached to it. Repair of the defect is carried out by pulling out after the glue has completely dried.
Another way to remove dents from the outside, also based on pulling them out, is to use a magnet. The repair consists of moving it across the defect area from its center to the edges, pulling it towards itself.
To avoid damaging the paintwork, place a rag under the magnet. It should be borne in mind that only a small dent can be corrected using this method.
The next method of externally straightening dents differs in principle from those discussed; it is based on temperature differences. Such repairs are carried out using a hair dryer and a can of compressed air. Moreover, to repair a dent in this way, you will need a powerful hair dryer capable of creating a temperature of 300-650 °C. Repairs begin by heating the surface of the defect, then immediately blowing it with a can of compressed air. A large temperature difference (more than 350 °C) leads to straightening of the dent. Depending on the size of the defect, this operation may have to be performed at several points.
If after this work there are traces of dents, they can be removed by tapping with a mallet. In this case, the damaged area should be covered with a soft rubberized material to avoid damage to the car’s paintwork.

Adjusting doors and locks VAZ 2110
from 100 rubles from 300 rubles from 500 rubles from 300 rubles from 100 rubles from 300 rubles from 300 rubles from 1500 rubles
The locks on the VAZ 2110 are no different from the VAZ 2109 -14, the adjustment includes not only the position of the door in relation to the fender or rear door, for example sagging, the door adjustment also includes opening and closing the door, locking with a key or an alarm, sometimes the door closes very poorly or is very difficult to open or the door itself is difficult to move. If the door is difficult to move, pay attention to the hinges; they may be very rusty. If the door opens while moving, it is necessary to change the external door lock (chocolate). If the door bounces off when closing and does not close, replace the chocolate bar too. If the door is sagging, the sagging can be slight, with such sagging it is enough to place a washer between the hinges or bend the hinges and complex ones, when, when eliminating the sagging, the door is removed from the hinges and the hinges themselves are changed entirely.
If the door, when opening from the outside, suddenly locks itself (the nail falls), this is either an incorrect position of the fastening lock of the alarm rod, which is attached to the rod (nail), sometimes the lock of the fastener becomes loose, or the cause may be a failure of the internal mechanism itself, the mechanism the spring flies out, with this problem it is necessary to change the internal mechanism. If the locking/unlocking nail of the door is difficult to move, this is either a problem with the internal mechanism, the mounting of the alarm motor rods, the lock cylinder, or parts that have boiled from rust.
We carry out any door adjustments, replacement of mezanisms, locks, lock cylinders, window lifters with high quality and inexpensively.
The doors on the VAZ 2110 are much heavier than on the VAZ 2114, the seal in the doorways is also different. For example, the VAZ 2109 has a three-chamber seal, that is, cutting the seal in half, you can see three holes in it, but the VAZ 2110 has a single-chamber seal, the only thing that really serves, and sometimes even gets in the way, is the rubber tube, which is located in the upper corners of the openings doors, in the area of the B-pillar - between the doors. After 2005, the VAZ 2114 is also equipped with “ten” seals from the factory. When replacing seals, you need to take into account the age of the locks; if the car is old, after replacing the seals the door can open while driving. Usually the lock opens slightly on bumps or uneven roads with one click, this is a signal that it’s time to change the outside lock. If you slam the door, and the door bounces off the body and does not close, but closes only if the door is closed quietly, also a signal to replace the lock.
The locks on the VAZ 2110 are the same as on the VAZ 2114; if the lock (chocolate) opens while driving, it must be replaced immediately.
At the doors of the VAZ 2110 family, the upper part, in the closed position, bends over the drainage rubber band that runs along the entire edge of the roof to the rear window. In some cars, the front door touches the rear door when closing, this often happens on Priors. This is an incorrect installation of the door from the factory (I would break their hands for such an installation), it is called door sagging, it can be eliminated with the help of washers or bending the bottom hinge, it all depends on the complexity.
Elimination of sagging from 200 rub. Universal seals for VAZ 2110 price 1500 rubles, set of 4 pieces.
A common complaint when driving a car is the whistling sound of the front doors. The reason is not a tight fit of the door to the seal, it can be eliminated by adjustment, if this does not help, you can glue a self-adhesive seal in the doorway between the top rubber and the seal, I assure you the noise will disappear. We always have seals for VAZ 2110, VAZ 2172 Priora in stock, high-quality replacement, adjustment.
Professional replacement of locks, mechanisms and window lifters, external and internal handles, elimination of sagging, gaps, efficiently and inexpensively.

How to adjust the door lock and set the gaps on a VAZ 2110
Adjusting the doors of the VAZ 2110 is required when it is necessary to correctly set the gaps of car openings. The factory setting changes over time. The imbalance leads to other disturbances: creaking appears, the sealing of the interior decreases, and incorrect operation of the lock or handles is observed. After inspecting the body, it is important to identify the part that requires adjustment.
How to replace door hinges on a VAZ 2110 car
If you need to replace the hinge on the front door of a VAZ 2110, then in addition to dismantling the door, you also need to remove the front fender. Then:
- A workplace is prepared, preferably a table, which is covered with a soft cloth to preserve the paintwork. This is not necessary for major renovations.
Removed door
- Replacing door hinges on a VAZ 2110 begins by cutting off the old hinges at the base.
- Rust is cleaned and removed from the installation site of new hinges.
- New hinges are screwed to the car body pillar.
- The door is installed in the opening.
- Fixed in the correct position relative to the body. In this case, you need to monitor the gaps along the threshold and between the roof and the adjacent door.
- The door is pre-fixed using any method.
- The wing is put in place.
- Gaps are controlled.
- The wing is removed.
- The hinges are welded to the door.
- All additional fixations are removed.
- The correct installation of the doors is checked. To do this, you need to open and close them several times.
How to replace door hinges on a BA 2110 is clearly visible in the video.
Why adjust doors?
The door of a modern car should close silently, with a slight push. Understanding that adjustment is required will come if the cause of the breakdown is identified:
- The hinges are in the wrong position - the parts are checked for mechanical damage.
- The gaps between the door and the body part have been increased - poor adjustment was previously carried out.
- The door handle or lock needs to be replaced - the fasteners are poorly secured.
- Body deformation occurs as a result of an accident, locksmith work, or improper installation of the door card.

The design is a metal sheet with niches and holes for fastenings. The internal cavities are designed for soundproofing pads, electrical wires, speakers, window lift system, lock and handle. The door is attached to cast hinges, the rim is lined with a rubber seal. Glass is inserted into the niche. The diameter of the gaps is checked at the factory: no more than 1–2 cm. A standard car is produced without an additional upgrade. Modification of the machine by inexperienced drivers can lead to door malfunction.
Adjustment Tools
To adjust the design, equipment, spare parts and preventive measures are prepared. When replacing a lock, the entire mechanism or core is purchased. The price of the device starts from 500 rubles. Preparation includes choosing a room and having the following tools:
- socket wrench;
- Screwdriver Set;
- hammer;
- lubricants;
- rags;
- knife.
It’s easier to adjust the hinges with a key number 10, but if you don’t have one, a tool number nine will do.
Adjusting the front or rear door
The distance of the gaps, the condition of the hinges, the lock and the opening mechanism are checked. Regardless of which door needs to be configured: front or rear, a universal algorithm of actions is provided:
- Loosen the hinges using a wrench. Their internal screws can be accessed by opening the door well.
- Lightly tap with a hammer to move the structure to the desired position.
- Tighten the bolts once the door is in place. Opening/closing is also checked, and the mechanism is modified if necessary.
The deformation of the metal fragment cannot be corrected by adjustment, only by high-quality straightening.
Adjusting door handles
A No. 20 screwdriver will help you adjust the Euro handle, but first you need to disassemble the facing panel. Step-by-step algorithm:
- Removing the plugs. Unscrewing the bolts.
- Removing the cover. Handle recess.
- Disconnecting the retainer wires.
Checking/inspecting the mechanism will tell you exactly what the problem is. Most often, the cause of the violation is contamination or excessive tightening of the internal bolt. If it breaks, you have to change the retainer, washer or retaining ring. When the elements are cleaned and lubricated, assembly is carried out. Screw tightening is no more than four turns.
If the hardware is damaged or there are cracks on the body, a new part must be installed.
Adjusting the lock
Adjusting the door lock on a VAZ 2110 requires loosening the latch or brackets. The element is located on the door pillar. The displacement causes the structure to sag. Instructions:
- Open the door and grasp the latch with the key.
- Move the part up or down along with the door. The adjuster will immediately understand when the part returns to its place.
It is important to hold the fragment tightly while working.
Adjustment of the plumb part is provided. Tapping the bracket with a hammer will help.
