Priora hot cold air switch does not work

In the cold season, problems that arise in the operation of the Lada Priora heating system especially annoy their owners. Of course, this does not happen very often, but this kind of malfunction does happen. For example, the stove fan starts working only in the 4th position, while in the first 3 positions cold air enters the cabin. This problem can be solved independently. The main thing here is to get ahead of the cause of the malfunction, but eliminating it should not cause much trouble.

Basic points

The heater control mechanism may differ depending on whether the car has air conditioning and what manufacturer it is from. Although there will be some changes in the design, the types of breakdowns, their causes and solutions will not differ. Therefore, we will consider general situations. Typically, VAZ-2171 owners face three common problems:

  1. Failure to switch the direction of air flow.
  2. Lack of ability to change air temperature.
  3. Difficulty switching operating modes.

It is by these signs that the performance of an automatic control system can be determined. If at least one functionality does not work, then we can conclude that the Priora heater control unit has failed; repairs in these cases are ineffective. It is better to replace the damaged element with a new one, regardless of its high cost. But the heater’s operation will be trouble-free and you won’t have to sit in a cold car at the most inopportune moment.

The main problems with the heating system on Priora

Why doesn’t the stove heat up if everything is fine with the cooling system? First, it’s worth understanding how exactly the stove in a car works.

The temperature sensor in the cabin receives a signal from the heater control unit. Then the controller begins to compare the cabin temperature with the one set on the sensor by the driver. If there is a difference, the controller sends a signal to the heater gear motor located under the hood, and it, in turn, controls the operation of the damper and, depending on the signal, will open or close the air supply from the radiator.

If, regardless of whether the air regulator switches or not, only cold or hot air continues to blow into the cabin, it means that the control flaps are stuck in one position. In 17% of cases this is a breakdown of the heater in the car. There may be several reasons:

  1. The temperature sensor located on the ceiling in the cabin is broken.
  2. The damper micromotor is faulty, the gear teeth are worn out or the resistor layer is worn out.
  3. Clogged cabin filter.
  4. A complete lack of flow indicates a broken heater fuse.

The next part to check if all of the above is ok is the fan. It may need to be replaced. If the stove makes humming or whistling sounds when operating, this is also a sign of a fan malfunction.

The next point to check is the heating resistor; its main function is to switch fan speeds.

If everything is fine with the dampers, but cold air continues to blow into the cabin, the radiator may be clogged. When the check of each described part is completed, but the problem remains, you should examine the controller itself for controlling the operation of the stove.

But before you buy a new device, check the functionality of the old one. Just replace it with another controller that you can borrow from a friend. Perhaps the problem with the poor performance of the stove is something else.

Principle of operation

The Priora heater control unit, the repair of which we are interested in in this article, receives a signal from the cabin temperature sensor. This mechanism is located in the ceiling light. After receiving this signal, a comparison is made with the temperature value that was set by the driver. The difference is compared with the acceptable value. If the difference between temperatures is greater than the permissible value, the control unit will send a signal to the damper gear motor.

Due to such a complex system that Priora is characterized by, the stove unit may exhibit malfunction due to other elements. Therefore, you should not initially sin with self-propelled guns. The problem may be with the dampers or the temperature sensor. To determine this, it is necessary to measure the resistance on the sensors.

Incorrect operation of the cabin temperature sensor

There is another reason why the stove on the Priora does not work correctly. It occurs due to a malfunction of the cabin temperature sensor. It is located in the ceiling lamp.

The element, measuring the air temperature in the cabin, gives a command to the damper gearbox to open or close. This way the microclimate in the cabin is regulated. Its serviceability should also be checked.

Dismantling and replacement

To install a new control unit for the Priora stove, you need to remove the old one. This is logical, so you need to learn how to dismantle the faulty element. We have prepared a list of actions that will help in this work:

  1. Initially, the console lining, which blocks access to the self-propelled gun system, must be dismantled.
  2. Next comes the disconnection of the block on which the power wiring harness is located.
  3. From the inside, unscrew the fastening screws that hold the control element of the stove.
  4. Now you can get it out because there is nothing else holding it in.

The new Priora heater unit is installed in the same order, only in reverse order. When purchasing a new item, it is important to choose the model that was installed in your car. This is a proven method of replacing self-propelled guns, which has been tested in practice more than once.

Now you know how to check the heater control unit on a Priora, dismantle the faulty element and return the heater to good condition. You can do all this work yourself and there is no need to pay specialists. If only it had not failed, but nothing lasts forever, which means the control unit periodically needs repairs.

Replacement

Technologically, the replacement process is not complicated, but a large number of small operations will have to be performed, which leads to a large loss of time. Replacement is carried out in the following order:

  • First we disconnect the battery; to do this, just remove the negative terminal;
  • The windshield frame trim is removed;
  • The vacuum booster may be in the way, so it's best to remove it. Although, this action is performed at the request of the driver;
  • Disconnect the block with wires from the resistor;
  • Remove the resistor. It is secured with a regular screw; unscrewing it will remove the part.

After removal, it is advisable to check the resistor, this will allow you to accurately determine the serviceability of the part. This will avoid replacing a faulty part. To check, measure the resistance at the contacts; the nominal resistance is usually indicated on the resistor body. If the measurement indicator differs from those indicated, then replacement of the part is necessary. To install the resistor, simply screw the screw into place. Please note that you should tighten the screw as tightly as possible, otherwise you will get poor contact and the resistor will not work correctly. There will be no problems with installing the block; it is installed in only one position.

How to repair the heater mode switch in Lada Priora

Lada Priora is a product of the domestic automobile industry. This car has earned people's love for its low cost, good quality, and the availability of parts when repairs are needed. Despite good reviews from owners, the car is not without a number of shortcomings. For example, it happens that the Priora stove only works at speed 4. You can go to a service station to find out why the Priora stove switch is not working. But you can wait for your turn for several days, and the problem needs to be solved as quickly as possible.

The stove or heating system on the Lada Priora is almost no different from the same system of its predecessor, the “tens”. If you are familiar with the device of the tenth model, then you can easily figure out the heating system on the Priora. There may be several reasons why the temperature of the Priora stove is not regulated. Let's look at what these reasons are:

  1. incorrect operation of the thermostat;
  2. malfunctions in the cabin air temperature sensor system;
  3. dust getting into the radiator of the car heating system;
  4. breakdowns in the heating system control unit;
  5. malfunctions in the operation of the gearmotor or electric motor of the heating system.

Granta stove only works at speed 4

Many car enthusiasts will be curious to know why the heater fan only works at speed 4. Typically, owners of domestic cars of the “tenth” family, as well as people operating Kalinas and Prioras, face this problem. Such a breakdown always occurs unexpectedly and causes some inconvenience. If at a frost of -30° the malfunction does not cause any special problems, then at higher temperatures the driver has to choose whether to drive in the cold or in a steam room. This has a negative impact on comfort. Therefore, you need to know how to properly fix this problem. In practice, this is not too difficult. Although you will have to tinker with restoring the functionality of the stove.

Cooling system or motor?

Before you begin troubleshooting the heating of the furnace, it is necessary to eliminate the impact of breakdowns of the cooling system and engine. Only then can you begin to figure out why the stove mode switch on the Priora does not work. To do this, we check the antifreeze level and engine operation. First step: look into the expansion tank and determine the coolant level. Then turn on the engine and warm it up for a while. This will allow you to determine whether the thermostat is functioning correctly. Just touch the thick pipes leading to the radiator.

If you find that the top pipe is hot, this indicates that the device is functioning normally. A cold pipe is a sign that the thermostat is not working properly and you will need to replace it. This part is inexpensive, so replacement will be easy. A loose expansion tank cap is another reason why the engine remains cold. Because of this, the Priora stove switch may not work. Just replace this part.

The stove does not work on the Lada Priora (reasons and repairs)

With the onset of cold weather, the first malfunctions of the Lada Priora heater begin to appear. Situations may be different; in one case there may be problems with the fan, in another with the dampers, etc. Today we will tell you how to properly repair a stove on a Priora with your own hands.

Engine cooling system problems?

As practice shows, most problems with the Priora stove occur due to the ESD (engine cooling system).

In this case, the procedure is as follows:

1.

We check the coolant level in the expansion tank so that it is between o and “MAX”. If coolant has to be added all the time, then the cooling system is leaking somewhere. You should carefully inspect all pipes for leaks, and also tighten the clamps. By the way, in order for warm air to enter the cabin faster, many car enthusiasts in winter specially add coolant only to the “MIN” mark. After all, the less liquid there is in the system, the faster it will heat up.

2.

We check the coolant circulation in the SOD, paying attention to the expansion tank.

If there is no antifreeze circulation, or it is not sufficient, then the pump may be faulty (it should be replaced) or the cooling system may be clogged.

3.

Checking the thermostat. We warm up the engine to 75 degrees and feel the upper radiator pipe (in diagram No. 13), if it is cold, then the coolant circulates only in a small circle, the thermostat should be replaced with a new one.

If the stove blows cold air, then the reason may be airing of the SOD.

Problems with the heater elements of Lada Priora?

The stove on a Priora does not heat up when the cooling system is working? Then you should first understand the principle of its operation:

Repairing fan and radiator

Often the heater regulator on a Priora does not work due to the fact that a large amount of dust or other small dirt particles has entered the heat exchanger. Over time, contaminants get inside heating devices. This cannot but affect the performance of the entire system. Air masses do not warm up well. You may note that the oven only works in position 4. In case of contamination, you can simply replace the entire radiator. You need to remove the device from the power unit side. Do not forget to first drain the antifreeze from the cooling system, disconnect the windshield wipers and wires, dismantle the fan completely and remove the entire radiator by removing the pipes leading to it.

There is not only the problem that the Priora stove operates only at maximum, but also the complete absence of air jets from the heating system. The first step is to make sure that the radiator is working in principle. Place your hand and note whether any streams of air are blown out. Even cold air masses indicate that the system is operating. Otherwise, there is a possibility of fuse failure.

If the fuse stops, it means the furnace fan is broken. One possible reason for the fan not spinning could be small leaves or other small objects that have gotten into the fan. This will be confirmed by a hum. If necessary, you can remove the fan on the Lada Priora using the same procedure as on the tenth model. Replacing the fan will solve the problem.

A breakdown of the gearmotor on a Lada Priora can lead to the damper not operating, which will prevent hot air jets from entering the cabin. You can get to the gearmotor through the hood. If the problem is not with the damper, then most likely the stove is not working due to the contacts being oxidized. Simply clean them with sandpaper.

Cold heater radiator (heater does not heat)

In driving practice, a common situation is when the Priora’s stove blows cold air instead of hot air.

Let us highlight the main reasons for this situation:

  • Failure in the engine cooling system. The stove radiator is cold and does not give off heat. To check, touch the heater pipes, which should be hot. The explanation for the malfunction may be the radiator itself, for example, due to the fact that it is clogged and does not allow antifreeze to pass through.
  • Dirty cabin filter. To check the version, dismantle the unit and check whether the stove is functioning or not.
  • The gear motor has failed.
  • Wedge or damage to the damper.
  • Failure of the heating device controller.
  • Damage to the temperature sensor installed in the car interior. To check this version, disable it for a while, and then check the operation again.

During long-term operation of the vehicle, dirt collects in the engine block on the pipes, which is subsequently spread throughout the system, thereby clogging the radiator honeycombs. The stove radiator is no exception, which also becomes dirty and begins to work worse.

In such a situation, do the following:

  • Drain the antifreeze from the system.
  • Remove the wiper arms.
  • Remove the frill cover and move the noise shield to the side.
  • Disassemble the stove body, discard the wires and remove the electric motor.
  • Remove the heat exchanger by discarding the supply pipes.
  • Clean or replace it.

Is it all about the filter?

Often, replacing the filter can help solve the problem of weak air mass flows - when dirty, it becomes an obstacle to the passage of warm air. And then, even at high speed, the air flow can be too weak. You can also repair the heater rheostat (Priora with air conditioning) yourself. It is enough to replace the thermal fuse. This is precisely what a clogged filter affects. The thermal fuse overheats and fails; it only works at the maximum position.

If the Priora stove only works in position 4, then this may indicate that the rheostat has burned out. The same problem can lead to the heating system operating exclusively in the first position. Additional resistance causes the stove to work worse and slower. You will note that the Priora stove switch does not work.

Many passenger cars of the domestic automobile industry have a similar resistor block to the Lada Priora. You can get to the rheostat of the Priora stove through the housing on the left. You need to unscrew two screws to get to this block.

What is the reason?

Why does the heater fan only work at speed 4? The reason for this phenomenon is the resistor through which the stove motor is turned on. Its malfunction can lead to such consequences. Let's first look at how this system works. The speed of the motor is adjusted by reducing the current. The maximum current value corresponds to speed 4. Slower operating speed is ensured by higher resistance, which reduces the current flow. The reason for the failure of low speeds is the inability to switch the resistance. This malfunction is fatal, so the entire part will have to be replaced.

Also, sometimes the fuse, which is located on the resistor body, fails. This problem is resolved by replacing it. For greater reliability, it is better to use a flag fuse.

Kalina's problem

. Before we start talking about replacing the resistor, we should mention one feature that is typical for the Lada Kalina, and is not essentially a malfunction. When you turn on the heater immediately after starting the engine, only speed 4 is available. To be able to turn on the others, set the stove to maximum, and after 5 seconds you can turn on any of the modes. Also on this model there is a weak resistor. You should not turn on the stove until the engine starts; when connecting the starter, there is a high risk of resistor failure.

Part selection

. If you need to change a resistor, then the first difficulty you will encounter is the selection of parts. There are 5 resistor options for the Lada, and you won’t be able to guess which one is worth it. You will have to first remove the part from the car. Installing another resistor may cause problems with the stove.

Temperature sensor and control unit

Switching may be difficult due to malfunctions in the temperature sensor located inside the car. You can find it in the lampshade on the ceiling of the cabin. The regulator changes the mode, transmitting data on the air temperature in the cabin to the gearbox. Depending on the temperature, the damper closes or opens. The serviceability of this element of the heating system affects the correct operation of the stove.

Heating a car depends on the operation of the entire heating control unit. It is in it that the distribution of air jets occurs, the strength of the direction of air flows to one or another part of the cabin is determined, and the temperature value is determined. It is better if the reason for the failure is the resistance of the Priora stove, since it is difficult to repair the unit. To make sure that the reason for the incorrect heating operation is in the unit, you need to remove your unit and replace it with one that is in working condition.

In cars with air conditioning, the speed controller often fails. In the event of a breakdown, the heating system does not work or turns on only in the maximum position. Such a breakdown occurs when the oven operates for a long time with the damper in the closed position. This is where overheating occurs.

Finding the cause of a malfunction of the stove in a Lada Priora car is not difficult if you understand the principles of operation of parts and components. The correct sequence of work will allow you to eliminate the breakdown in a short time.

Main elements of the stove

Structurally, the Lada Priora stove is similar to the device installed in the VAZ 2110; let us highlight its features in the mechanical and electrical parts.

Mechanical part:

  • Air exhaust distributor assembly. It consists of flaps for heating the lower part and windshield, a half-body on the left and right, and a drive lever for the flaps.
  • Instrument panel trim with guide units provided in it.
  • Ventilation ducts (located on the left and right). Connect oval windows and side deflectors.
  • Heating nozzles for side windows.
  • Ventilation deflectors (in the center and on the sides).
  • Air duct for heating the “foot” area of the driver and front passenger.
  • An air duct for heating the rear section of the car where the passengers are located.
  • Spoiler.
  • Air filter.

Electrical part:

  • Air distribution gearmotor. Provides distribution of air flow to different areas depending on the selected mode.
  • Temperature sensor. Fixed in the ceiling area for the most precise temperature control.
  • Resistor (additional, additional). The rotation speed of the furnace fan depends on it. Fixed in the engine compartment.
  • Heating device controller/control unit. Here the car owner sets the operating parameters of the device.
  • Electric fan. Located in the engine compartment.
  • Stove radiator (located inside the heating device).
  • Heating damper motor reducer. Redirects air flow in the cabin.

Types of breakdowns

Failure of the distributor to take the desired position may be due to:

  • with loosening of its fastenings and the gear motor drive;
  • its deformation from hot air or breakage;
  • adhesion to sealant residues.

In these cases, the Priora stove damper is blocked in one position. At the same time, clicks of the rotating mechanism are heard inside the car (the gearmotor that controls its position is knocking).

Lada Priora heater damper: how to remove and check. To repair, check and replace it, you will have to remove the plastic panel - the torpedo.

How to get to this mechanism without such difficulties? You can try to change the position of the regulator with a long screwdriver through the air duct grilles.

Some car enthusiasts, in order to avoid deformation, replace the standard one with a metal or wooden one.

In one of the issues of the automobile magazine "Behind the Wheel" it was proposed to replace the electronic control of the damper position with a simpler one - mechanical. As in old VAZ car models, its rotation can be adjusted using a system of levers and cables. It's not as convenient, but it's much more reliable.

Operating principle of the stove

The heater is controlled by a controller, from which a signal is received to turn on the stove. The driver sets the temperature in the cabin. If the temperature sensor detects that the temperature has dropped below the set level, the controller sends a signal to change the opening width of the stove damper. In some cases, an electronic failure occurs; instead of hot air, cold air is supplied.

The controller also regulates the number of fan revolutions. It sends a signal to an additional resistor, which, in turn, adjusts the operation of the fan using the built-in resistance. The resistor may not be used at all - then the fan runs at maximum speed. Thus, it acts as a “brake” for this node. If the resistor breaks, the fan may not start at all.

The driver can control which direction the air flow will be directed. To do this, he needs to set the value on the dashboard. The control regulators bark a command to move the dampers.

The main differences between a stove with air conditioning and a standard one

The main feature of this device is the presence in the air duct of a heater, an air conditioner evaporator radiator, which cools the air passing through it.

Operating principle of the air conditioner

All cars equipped with these devices have approximately the same set of components. It includes the following elements:

  • Control block.
  • Relays and fuses.
  • Air conditioning radiator with fan.
  • Compressor with electric coupling.
  • Evaporator.
  • Aluminum tubes for connection.
  • Sensors and wires.

The main feature of this gas is its ability to lower temperature when strongly compressed. That is, the higher the pressure in the system, the lower the temperature during evaporation. This is such an interesting thing. In general, when turned on, the compressor pumps pressure into the evaporator, located in the heater housing in the path of the air sucked in by the engine. The heated gas goes through the return pipe to the radiator, located in front of the main heat exchanger of the cooling system. And from there, under pressure, again into the evaporator. The air conditioner is turned on from the control panel of the unit, with a button built into the heater mode handle.

Differences

It is the presence of the evaporator that dictates the requirements for the location of the stove components. That is why the electric motor of the Priora heater is located not vertically, as on a standard stove, but horizontally. And the Priora cabin filter takes a vertical position instead of a horizontal one. There is a separate article about this on replacing the Priora cabin filter.

Heater radiator with air conditioner

It was also positioned somewhat differently. The difference is that it does not go towards the vacuum brake booster, as on a simple Priora, but forward. That is, in the direction of the car engine. All this is done so that you do not have to dismantle the entire stove to replace the unit.

Heater fan

The engine on such stoves, as already mentioned, is located vertically. One detail. If a Panasonic air conditioner is installed, then its electric motor is located on the right side of the stove (along the direction of the car). But on the Hallo system, on the left. Next to the radiator. The Halo air conditioner motor is slightly smaller than the Panasonic motor.

Air conditioner evaporator

And, of course, the evaporator radiator. It is installed in the right half of the heater, right at the air inlet

It is its presence that requires special care when repairing and replacing any part of the climate control system

The heater doesn't heat up at idle

Another problem that car owners face is problems with the kidney idling.

In this case, there are several reasons for the malfunction:

  • Low level of antifreeze in the cooling system.
  • Leaks that lead to the situation described in paragraph 1.
  • Airiness of the system.

The first two problems are rarely difficult to solve. The situation is different when the malfunction is caused by an air lock.

Take the following steps:

  • Remove the screen from the motor.
  • Loosen the clamp, then remove the throttle assembly heating tube and select any of the options.
  • Unscrew the cap of the expansion tank.
  • Place a clean rag on the neck and start blowing until coolant comes out of the removed pipe.
  • Place the tube onto the fitting and tighten the clamp.
  • Put the screen back in place.

If the considered method does not solve the problem, go through the following steps:

  • Warm up the engine to increase the pressure in the system.
  • Turn off the car and remove the tube from the throttle heating. In this case, there is no need to remove the plug from the cooling system tank.

Due to the high pressure, excess antifreeze will come out through the tube. Next, all that remains is to insert the tube into the fitting and tighten the clamp.

What to do if the stove works normally only at 4th speed – Lada Priora

Probably everyone knows that the VAZ-2170 is a direct descendant of the “tenth” series. Accordingly, many problems here are eliminated in the same way as in the “ancestor”. Heating system repair is no exception. No, Priora, of course, has its own characteristics, but the main causes of the problems, as well as the methods for eliminating them, are essentially the same.

Let's take one of the most typical breakdowns - the stove only works if the fan control is turned on to 4th speed. In most cases, this problem occurs for one of two reasons:

  • resistor failure;
  • There is a malfunction in the heater control unit.

In the first case, fixing the breakdown will not take much time. It is worth explaining that in the Priora, at the first 3 speeds, the fan operates through a resistor, while at the 4th speed it works directly. Accordingly, in order for the heater to work normally again, the failed element must be eliminated. The resistor is located near the heater filter - to get to it, you need to remove the “jabot” - the plastic trim of the windshield.

Next, disconnect the block with wires from the resistor terminals, unscrew the fastening screw and take out the part itself. In fact, we have already reached the source of the problem. In order for the fan to work normally in all positions, you just need to install a new resistor. It should be noted that often it is not the part itself that fails, but the thermal fuse soldered to pin 4.

It can be replaced with a new 15-amp, rated at 117 degrees. However, if you don’t know how to hold a soldering iron in your hands, then you shouldn’t do this. It’s easier to purchase a new resistor, especially since it is relatively inexpensive - the issue price is about 200 rubles. At the same time, inept actions when re-soldering a fuse will result in the same costs. Not only will you still have to run to the store for a new resistor, but you will also waste your time. Therefore, you can do such repairs on your own if you have the appropriate skills. Also, do not forget that you must solder with a heat sink, otherwise you will overheat the fuse and simply damage it.

The problem may also arise due to a malfunction in the heater control unit. The easiest way to check it is to temporarily install one that is known to work. The Priora is a fairly common model in Russia, so it’s quite possible to turn to someone you know with a request to borrow this unit.

It is worth noting one more important point. On a Priora with a Panasonic air conditioner, there is a speed controller - it is responsible for the correct operation of the fan. If this part burns out, you will see the blower button on the console flashing. Well, the fan itself will only work if you set the knob to the 4th position. The speed control is located under the air intake, on the left side. In order to get to it, you will first need to remove the wiper. Next, we dismantle the air intake. After this, you will see the regulator itself, held in place by two screws.

It should be warned that the cost of this part is about 2 thousand rubles. Therefore, it makes sense to repair the regulator - if you don’t know how to do it yourself, take it to a workshop or contact your friends. In principle, there is nothing complicated here. After unscrewing the screws and removing the case, you will see the internal filling - a green board. Only the thermal fuse or transistor can fail here.

Both of these parts, compared to the assembled regulator, cost pennies. You can even buy them at the radio market, take it all to a workshop, or do it all yourself. By the way, the thermal fuse most often fails due to overheating caused by a clogged cabin filter. Accordingly, the latter should be regularly inspected and replaced if necessary.

As you can see, in most cases, the problem when the stove fan operates only in the 4th position can be eliminated on your own. If you don’t want to or don’t know how to work with a soldering iron, change the failed assembly part or remove it, and then take it to the workshop. All the same, both of these options will cost you less than a visit to a car service center with payment for diagnostics and work of the specialists.

We are looking for the speed of the stove on the Priora.

Replacing the resistor and fuse of the Ford Focus 1 heater

Despite the fact that many car enthusiasts actively consider the Ford Focus 1 as a reliable vehicle that rarely brings unpleasant surprises to its car owners, such a car is still capable of encountering various technical troubles over time. The risk of problems associated with electrical equipment cannot be excluded.

It's no secret that modern cars are equipped with all kinds of electronics. To protect electrical equipment from possible overloads, special fuses are installed in cars that are responsible for the safety of various vehicle systems.

If a short circuit occurs accidentally, it is the fuse that stops the voltage supply, which prevents failure of the device itself or the wires suitable to it. The fuses with which the Ford Focus 1 is equipped have flat connectors; under increased load, very thin diameter wires melt in them. Fuses can also blow in cases where car owners connect an excessive number of electrical appliances, simultaneously turning on car refrigerators and car vacuum cleaners. If such a problem occurs, you only have to purchase a new element and replace it. You can mercilessly throw away burnt fuses and resistors, since they cannot be repaired.

Please note that your Ford Focus 1 contains a large number of fuses that are responsible for the operation of various systems. If you wish, you can figure out what exactly it is for if you study the technical documentation. Each element is accompanied by a special marking, so it is not at all difficult to search for a blown fuse in car dealerships.

Replacement process

If you notice that the heating of the interior of your car is not accompanied by high efficiency, since warm air is poorly supplied, we suggest that you check the fuse and resistor responsible for the operation of the stove. It will be easier for you to perform such a check, and then all the necessary manipulations, if you familiarize yourself with the recommendations we offer.

Replacing the fuse

Removing the old fuse and installing a new one in its place is not a difficult process if you have information about where to look for this burnt element. The fuse box in the Ford Focus 1 car is located on the left side of the steering wheel. However, this is not the only place where such a block is located; you can find another additional block in the engine compartment.

As soon as you find a blown fuse, do not tempt your fate by installing so-called bugs. Such actions will not lead to anything good. It’s better to immediately buy a corresponding analogue from the store and make a high-quality replacement. Don’t save on something for which you will have to pay a larger sum later.

So, in order to replace burnt out elements, you need to prepare in advance only two main tools:

  • tweezers;
  • screwdriver.

Externally, you are unlikely to be able to determine which fuse needs to be replaced, so you are better off using the diagram and labeling of all available fuses. You will only have to pay attention to the elements that are responsible for the operation of the system that has caused you doubts or whose operation is accompanied by problems.

Take tweezers, grab the fuse and remove it from the socket. Install a new element in the free space. After replacement, we recommend that you check the operation of the heating system. If your stove still does not provide sufficient heating of the interior, then the problem lies elsewhere. We recommend that you check the functionality of the heater resistor.
