Replacing a light bulb
Choice
First of all, it should be said that the low beam lamp for the Lada Largus uses a halogen H4 standard, i.e. contains two threads and is responsible not only for near, but also for distant lighting.
Currently on the market you can find such lamps from a variety of manufacturers, among which are the following:
- Bosh;
- Osram;
- Philips;
- Narva, etc.
In addition, domestic Mayak light bulbs have recently proven themselves to be quite good. Their advantages include not only low price, but good quality.

Advice! It is advisable to purchase light bulbs in specialized stores, since recently a lot of counterfeit products from China have appeared that quickly fail or produce poor-quality light.
Of course, when choosing lamps you need to pay attention not only to the brand, but also to the following characteristics of the lighting element:
Characteristics Optimal parameters Brightness (light beam power) Up to 1550 lm Service life Up to 1500 hours Power 45-60 W
Standard halogens provide an unnatural yellowish glow. However, recently light bulbs have appeared with a bluish glow. People call them pseudo-xenon.
In the photo - a pseudo-xenon bulb

However, it should be noted that such light illuminates the road well only in dry weather. In fog or rain, ordinary lamps are preferable.
Moreover, in bad weather, even the expensive “xenon” and “LEDs” are inferior to the latter, the power of the light beam is one and a half to two times more powerful than that of halogen bulbs. This is due to the fact that the light of these elements has insufficient penetrating power.
Note! To install xenon and halogen lamps, you should contact a service center for help, since this work requires the installation of additional equipment and changes to the software. Accordingly, the installation of such lighting is quite expensive.
Thus, each driver can choose the most suitable light bulb, taking into account his own financial capabilities and the conditions in which the car will be operated.

Replacement procedure
Replacing the low beam lamp on a Lada Largus is carried out in the following order:
- Work should begin by disconnecting the terminal from the battery.
- Then you need to remove the plug from the back of the headlight. To do this you need to turn it slightly.
- After this, you should disconnect the block from the contacts by pulling it by the body.
- Next, you need to remove the spring retainer from the grooves with your finger. After this, the bulb is easy to remove from the headlight, since nothing else holds it.
Spring retainer

- Next, you need to install a new light bulb in place. It is better to do this work with gloves so as not to touch the glass flask with your own hands. The fact is that traces of fat can lead to rapid burnout of the lamp.
- Then you need to fix the base with a spring clip, put the block on the contacts and then install the plug in place.
- At the end of the work, you should connect the battery and check the operation of the headlights.
Advice! It is advisable to change the bulbs in two headlights at once to ensure that they glow equally, and also to avoid the second bulb burning out, which can happen at the most inopportune moment.
This completes the replacement of the low beam lamp in Largus. As we can see, this operation is carried out extremely simply.

Bulbs installed in LADA Largus recommended by the manufacturer
Lada Largus appeared on the domestic market not so long ago. Its production began more than 15 years ago. It became the prototype of the Dacia Logan MCV. The exterior of the car differs little from its predecessor, only in the logo, which is installed on the radiator grille.
Its main advantage is its stable suspension. Thanks to this, LADA Largus has become a real find for Russian roads. It grips confidently on slippery surfaces, which is important in the winter season. The car is a little heavy to drive and not good enough to drive.
Failure of lighting fixtures is a common problem for this model. It is not classified as complex, but requires immediate elimination. Even a slight deterioration in the quality of the luminous flux is a reason to replace the lamp.
Which lamp to choose? The first question that arises among car owners. The choice on the car accessories market is huge, but not everyone knows what characteristics you should pay attention to. Our table will help in solving this problem. It contains detailed information regarding which lamp is suitable for which unit in the Lada Largus. How to choose a lighting element
The range of lamps for installation in car headlights is very extensive. However, there are two factors that significantly limit your choice:
- the design of the headlamp block does not allow the use of any options you like;
- code requirements that expressly prohibit the installation of any elements other than those originally used by the manufacturer.
In the Lada Largus car, the functions of low and high beam are performed by one double-filament halogen lamp. This is convenient as it allows you to save space under the hood and reduce the size of the headlight unit. One tungsten filament produces a beam of light of greater brightness, directed primarily horizontally (high beam), and the second creates a beam with an opening angle of 30°, of which 10° are directed above the horizontal, and the remaining 20° below it.
The ability to reduce the size of the headlight unit results in the need to change the light bulb when any filament fails, even if the second one works quite reliably. In addition, you always have to change both lamps, left and right, since for high-quality lighting you need a set of two lamps selected according to their characteristics.
Lada Largus lamp base
High and low beam are realized using one light bulb with h4 socket. In addition, the following types of base are used for different positions:
In addition, there is a C3W baseless bulb that illuminates the stove control.

The best n4 lamps for Largus
To install the high/low beam of the Lada Largus, H4 halogen lamps are required, provided by the optics of the headlights. The most popular models:
- Philips X-treme Vision. Bright lamps giving cool white light. This is convenient in good weather, but in fog or snow the lighting efficiency is sharply reduced;
- Philips LongLife EcoVision. Inexpensive models with extended operating time;
- Osram Original Line. All-weather design with extended coverage area;
- Bosch Pure Light. They have bright light and extended service life.
According to users, the best option is Bosch Pure Light, the cheapest and brightest designs. Philips X-treme Vision is too expensive and often fails quickly, in addition, vision 130 models are too often counterfeited by unscrupulous manufacturers from Southeast Asian countries. Osram products represent an average option in terms of characteristics and service life, but when purchasing you need to carefully monitor the supply voltage - many models are designed for 24 V.
LED lamps for Lada Largus
Light-emitting diode (LED) lamps for cars are becoming increasingly popular. If you compare LEDs with halogen or conventional incandescent lamps, they are stronger, brighter and last longer. Therefore, LEDs are usually installed in premium cars.
Important: It is prohibited to install LED bulbs in low and high beam headlights. From the point of view of the law, LED can be equated to non-standard xenon. A violation is interpreted as Article 12.5 Part 1 - a fine of 500 rubles or a warning, or as Article 12.5 Part 3 - deprivation of driving license for 6-12 months. The inspector’s decision depends on the region, the vehicle, situational instructions from the traffic police and other factors.
Important: We do not recommend installing LED lamps in the headlight unit instead of the low or high beam of a car. It is better to replace the dimensions, turn signals, fog lights, etc. This way you will increase the visibility of the car on the road and the comfort of driving without the risk of losing your driving license.
Strengths of LEDs:
- working life - if a halogen lamp illuminates for 300 hours, then an LED lamp can last 50 or even 70 thousand hours;
- bright light - this is especially important in bad weather or when traveling frequently out of town;
- less energy consumption – reduced fuel consumption;
- No warm-up time is needed - they turn on instantly, without delay.
LEDs withstand vibrations and shocks better than their analogues. In the absence of physical damage, the light bulb can last even longer than the period specified by the manufacturer.
Flaws:
- price – LEDs are more expensive than analogues
If you install LEDs instead of halogen low or high beam lamps, you may lose your license. And when tuning turn signals, fog lights, side lights and interior lighting, the only drawback is the price. But if you take into account the increased working resource, you will even save money.
Replacing low beam lamp Lada Largus
All work on replacing the low beam lamp is carried out from under the hood.
1. Remove the plastic cap from the headlight.
2. Disconnect the contact chip from the lamp and move it to the side.
3. Remove the rubber seal from the headlight.
4. Unclip the spring clip and move it to the side.
5. Take out the old lamp...
6. Install the new lamp in place.
Do not touch the glass bulb of the lamp with your hands! If you accidentally touch the lamp with your hand, wipe the area with a cloth moistened with alcohol, and only then continue installation.
7. Put everything back together in reverse order.
Troubleshooting Some Problems
If, after replacing the lamp, the low beam on the Lada Largus still does not light up, the cause of the malfunction may be a blown fuse. Replacing them is even easier than the paws, since they are located in the cabin, on the left side of the steering column.
Two fuses are responsible for the low beam:
- F9 – left headlight.
- F10 – right headlight.
Note! Even if the fuse is not visually damaged, a new one should be installed in its place.
Often the cause of the malfunction is poor contacts of the fuse terminals. In this case, you just need to clean them.
It should be noted that there is no low beam relay on the Lada Largus, therefore, if replacing the fuses did not produce results, all that remains is to check the contacts in the headlight itself, which could have burned out or oxidized.
Often the light disappears due to poor contact of the machine ground wire. In this case, the problem is also solved by thoroughly cleaning the contact. If it was not possible to restore the light, you need to contact a service center for help.
Here, perhaps, are all the instructions for correcting the most common VAZ wiring faults.
What lamps are used
Before we figure out how to change a light bulb on Largus, let’s determine what lighting devices are used in the headlights of this car. The Largus headlights have only three lamps:
Low/high beam . Halogen double helix with H4 base. The power of the spirals is 55 and 60 W, respectively.
High and low beam lamp for Largus
Parking lights . Incandescent bulbs with W5W socket. Power 5 W.
Front side light bulb Lada Largus
Turn indicator . Incandescent bulb with an orange cylinder with a PY21W base. Power 21 W.
Front turn signal lamp Lada Largus
Closer to the side there is a turn signal light, in the center there is a device responsible for high and low beam, and underneath it is a side light bulb.

Rating of the best H4 light bulbs
So, we figured out the types of lamps. A bulb with an H4 socket is responsible for the low and high beam. All that remains is to decide which one to choose, because the range of light bulbs with such a base on the modern market is quite wide.
But by what criterion should you choose? Price? Quality of light? Life time? Colorful temperature? All these parameters are important for any light bulb, but, alas, they often exclude each other - cheap cannot be of high quality, and vice versa. This means that we will choose according to the price/quality ratio and our financial capabilities, focusing on the brand.
According to independent experts of the company, the price/quality ratio of the lamps was distributed as follows:
- Bosch;
- Osram;
- Philips;
- Narva;
- "Lighthouse".
Of course, the above rating does not mean that you should only take Bosch. The products of this manufacturer are quite expensive, although they have the highest characteristics. Domestic Mayak lamps, for example, are inferior to Bosch in many respects, but are much cheaper than the latter. Thus, the choice will depend not only on the desire to get the best, but also on material capabilities.
Expert opinion
Alexey Bartosh
Specialist in repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and industrial electronics.
Important! In order not to buy a Chinese counterfeit instead of Bosch or Narva, we will only buy light bulbs in specialized stores. And the fact that the same lighting device on the nearest market costs half as much should not rejoice, but be alarming.
How to replace the lamp?
Replacing a low beam lamp in a LADA Largus is not a complex procedure, which is quite feasible for inexperienced owners. Here you will need a simple set of tools. The right headlight will cause some difficulties, since the battery is located nearby. In general, this point can be easily eliminated. We will tell you how to change the lamp.
The lamp responsible for low beam in the Lada Largus has a rubber protective cover. This element can be easily moved to the side using manual force. This is done simultaneously with the removal of the power supply wire block.
The sequence of actions is as follows:
- We turn off the power to the on-board network by removing the terminals from the battery or turning the switch, which is structurally present in the Lada Largus. This mandatory action implies ensuring electrical safety during the full range of manipulations.
- We remove the rubber pad that covers the electrical component.
- Now carefully move aside the pair of metal antennae that hold the lamp in the socket.
- We disconnect the cable plugs with which the lamp is connected to the on-board network.
- We mount the new lamp in the designated socket and securely fix it.
- We connect the cable block to the electrical network.
- Finally, we return the rubber protective plug to its original place.
- We install all other previously removed components in their original places. Now you know how to change lamps.

What to choose for replacement
The standard factory installation is a halogen H4 light bulb on Largus. However, the modern car market offers alternative options for daytime car optics. There are three analogues:
- LED,
- xenon,
- halogen.
Xenon ones have a bluish glow, which is inconvenient in cloudy or rainy-snowy weather. Halogen units shine brightly and warmly. They are a common installation option, although they are inferior in power to other analogues. The advantage of LED elements is that they can store energy for a long time at high power.
