The tread has winter Velcro sipes, making the tire all-season. As it turned out later, many of the breeders I know own exactly the 515th Kama, which they drive “in tail and mane” all year round.

I use the Kama 515 all year round and even with decent mileage on asphalt it sharpens very slowly. According to my estimates, there are enough thousand for 70-80 years of use for sure. Although after a year the 4 slats have worn down noticeably and in winter it will no longer be comfortable to drive.

Well, the main use in the summer is fishing and hunting trips, on dirt roads, country roads and mud. Everything suits me here, the mud performance is like that of an AT, and driving on the highway is quite comfortable. Of course, you shouldn’t get into serious mud; the tread pattern is far from the pattern of MUD slippers. But with a lowering, center blocking and a clear head you can go very far, believe me. Well, at worst, I have a fiskar, an ax and a jack)) That’s enough for me.

If we compare it with imported all-season tires for Niva, then the price tag there is already one and a half to two times higher. On average, imported tires cost about 5,000 rubles per cylinder. I decided to try Dunlop’s Grandtrek SJ6 winter Velcro model as an “all-season” tire. The tread pattern of this tire seemed to me optimal for various types of road surfaces.

Maximum wheel size for Chevrolet Niva 4x4 without a lift

Without using lifting, you can install wheels on a Chevrolet Niva 4x4 with the dimensions discussed above. It should be taken into account that although these dimensions fit normally into the standard parameters of the car, when using, for example, “mud” tires, problems may arise with the wheels catching the wheel arch liners or bumper. Most often, Shniva owners install UAZ wheels with a diameter of 31 inches on their cars.

The longitudinal inclination angle of the turning axis is 3° 40'+/-30'. This is the angle between the vertical and the projection of the line that passes through the centers of the ball joints onto a plane that is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the machine. If you decide to replace the standard wheels and tires on a Chevrolet (LADA) Niva, then rely on the full diameter of the wheel. How to do this, using the example of 205/70 R15:

A disk with a diameter of 15″ is equal to 15 * 25.4 (1 inch = 2.54 cm) = 381 mm.
The height of the tire profile is calculated as follows: 205*70/100=143.5 mm.
Add up the rim diameter and two tire profile heights: 381 + 143.5 * 2 = 668 mm.
