Preamble. My car was assembled at the end of 2013, sold in 2014. It has a so-called suspension. old model with indexes 2190-29*****. The struts and shock absorbers are not gas-filled. I have already changed the rear springs to 21110-2912712-00, with orange marks - class A. The stock rear springs were from the first Viburnum. They had a blue mark - which is an indicator of class B. The front springs on versions with automatic transmission are their own, have the index 11196-2902712 - they are stiffer than on versions with manual transmission (1119-2902712). On my car they had 2 lemon yellow dots, indicating class A.
From the factory we have front springs of class A and rear springs of class B. Naturally, even when carrying a little load, the rear part swayed more than the front. That is why it was decided to replace the rear springs. Now they are of the same hardness class. The swing was reduced by a stiffer spring 2111; stiffness classes do not play a role here.
I recently noticed that the front struts are all covered in oil. This happened with a mileage of only 30 thousand km. Very little. The rear ones are completely dry. Having little experience in converting non-dismountable racks into collapsible ones for insert inserts, I decided not to bother with this and change all the racks to modernized so-called. 51 pendants. This suspension has been installed on Granta with 2190 suspension since 2021, and according to some data since the end of 2015. Distinctive features are shown in the booklet picture. Now grants are available on the following springs: (and for a complete transition you need to buy and replace them) 1. Rear springs
a) for the 2110 sedan b) for the 2111 liftback Perhaps with a spring from 2110 it would be more correct, but I really like the behavior of the sedan with rear springs 2111, especially since they are new.
Let it be like on a liftback! 2. Rear shock absorber compression buffer 2192-2912810
.
It is much longer than the original one. I bought BRT 2192-2912810-00. These are the strut bumper and the shock absorber boot. 3. The stands themselves.
Catalog numbers are in the pictures. I ordered the racks through a teammate, their difference from the serial ones is that there is no longer a knock on the lights out. These are planned to go on sale only in the second half of the year. Installation is planned for the next week.
Updated.
I've driven it enough to write a short review. After installation, I went to adjust the angles of the front wheels. I’ll say right away that it’s not tough, but it’s more energy-intensive. There really is no knock on the end. “Breaking through” it is much more difficult than stock. On springboards, the suspension travel is not selectable, there is a reserve left! Body roll has become less, turns can be taken at higher speeds. Small irregularities in the road surface are “swallowed” better. There is a feeling that the car is floating above the road.
When choosing shock absorbers for the Lada Granta (VAZ 2190), you should know that the front struts of this car will differ depending on the engine power (although all with a 1.6 liter engine) and body type, and the numbers are different on the right and left sides. While everything is much simpler with the rear shock absorbers, all modifications use the same ones. To make it easier for you to find the required shock absorber, use the tables of original numbers and their analogues.
Front shock absorbers for Granta
All Granta cars are equipped with stock oil shock absorbers produced at the SAAZ plant (Skopinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant). The original number of the front shock absorber struts for Granta can have three options, since cars come in different years of production, and are installed depending on the modification of the body and engine power. This information is displayed in the table.

It should be mentioned that for fans of an aggressive driving style on LADA Granta Sport and LADA Kalina Sport 2, gas-filled (gas-oil) shock absorbers of the “Sport” series with a shortened rod stroke were produced from the factory (art. A190291500440).
The main technical dimensions of the front shock absorbers for the Lada Granta are shown in the table:
Dimensions of front shock absorbers on Lada Granta | |||
Rod diameter, mm | Case diameter, mm | Rod stroke, mm | Rack pipe height, mm |
22 | 52 | 171 | 343 |
The same shock-absorbing front struts as on Granta are installed on LADA Kalina 2 (VAZ 2194, 2192).
Analogs of front shock absorbers VAZ 2190 and 2191
Many car owners prefer foreign analogues, which are superior in quality and more attractive in price. But even here, not everything is so simple - when going to the car market, you should beware of Chinese counterfeits, both domestic and foreign spare parts.
The most popular shock absorber struts among car enthusiasts are shown in the table:
