Why doesn't the injection Gazelle 405 start? Main reasons

Why doesn't the injection Gazelle 405 start? Main reasons

There are different problems with cars, but for some reason the Gazelle 405 injector does not start most often.
Drivers begin to rack their brains, but sometimes a solution to the problem is still impossible to find. Now we will look at several of the most likely breakdowns during which the car will not start.

When this happens, you first need to look at all the wires, spark plugs, rail pressure and injectors. Most often, the Gazelle 405 injector does not start because of the spark plugs, so just replace them. But sometimes problems arise that are more serious than candles.

Friends, help. The situation is this: I start starting it in the morning, it turns vigorously, there is a spark, gasoline is flowing! I twist and she doesn’t catch it! There are moments when you turn the gas pedal for 15 seconds, the gas pedal is to the floor, and when you throw the key away, it grabs, but this is if the pedal is depressed, if you throw away the key and the pedal too, it grabs and immediately stalls!

Carburetor or injector?

If it is a carburetor, then you need to manually pump in gasoline and adjust the air damper, and before parking the car, switch it to gasoline so that in the morning you can start it immediately on gasoline. In any case, you can reset the ECU settings by resetting the battery terminal for 20 minutes.

Some, when the Gazelle 405 does not start, immediately change the coolant temperature sensor. The fact is that the engine may overheat and it is because of this that it does not want to start.

Try changing the sensor and the cooling will return to normal. In any case, the most reliable option is to take it to a car service center. There, qualified specialists will quickly deal with the breakdown and tell you what was wrong with the car. You will know in the future what exactly will have to be repaired.

Common Causes

The Gazelle 405 injector does not start for various reasons. There could be a hundred of them, or even more, since there are simply unrealistically many details. However, injectors and spark plugs

. If the latter can be bought at any auto parts store, and even a less experienced driver can replace them, then problems may arise with the former.

The fact is that it is very difficult to determine that in such a situation in the Gazelle 405 it was the injectors that broke

Causes

Not for various reasons. Some of them are related to the time of year, while others are related to wear and tear. This problem can also be caused by the negligence of drivers who are careless about the maintenance of the power unit.

So, if not, there may be several reasons:

  • malfunction of fuel system components;
  • problem in valves and cylinders;
  • malfunctions in the ignition system;
  • breakdowns in the starter and battery;
  • air supply;
  • sensors and control unit.

Gazelle EURO 3 won't start

Customers often have a question: why not with the ZMZ 40524 engine with EURO 3 toxicity standards.

As soon as the car plant on the Volga began to equip its cars with EURO 3 engines, the first problems immediately arose:

won't start when cold ,

problems with hot starts, intermittent operation, variable speed, etc. Initially, MIKAS 11ET engine control units were equipped with software version 22, which did not justify itself at all. Then firmware version 32 came out, then version 52. Now most have firmware 32.

Doesn't start when cold

Let's start looking at the problems of EURO 3 with a “cold start” of a Gazelle car equipped with a ZMZ 40524 engine with an electronic gas pedal.

Trying to start a Gazelle in the morning turns into torture for the driver. It either starts the first time - just luck - or it catches on and immediately stalls, or it starts, but the revolutions jump from 400-500 to 1500-2500, and the last option - you can drain the battery, but not start

In most cases the reasons are:

At the initial moment of starting, the starting current of the starter is so high that the voltage on the battery drops to 5-6 Volts. This only lasts a few milliseconds, but this is enough for the engine control unit to reset. If a remote ground switch is installed, this increases the chances of it not starting. Resetting the ECU results in error 1602 being written to it (resetting terminal 30 or turning on the controller for the first time), all adaptation settings are reset, and the control unit begins to recheck all sensors, including the throttle valve assembly (the characteristic sound of the valve moving ), while turning off the fuel supply.

Replace the battery with a more powerful one (not less than 72-75 A/h);

Clean and tighten all power wires (terminals on the battery, body and engine ground, all connections on the remote ground switch, power wire on the starter)

If possible, replace the old-style starter with a more modern one, with a planetary gearbox (with the same torque it consumes less current)

The next problem is starting a hot engine.

Due to a faulty fuel pressure regulator located in the fuel pump module and due to the fact that the fuel rail is a dead end, a vapor lock may form in it. It pushes the fuel back into the gas tank. When you try to start, vapors enter the combustion chamber through the nozzles, which leads to instability of the engine. You have to repeat the start several times until the gasoline vapors are completely replaced by full-fledged fuel.

Several times just turn on the ignition with a pause of about 20 seconds, without starting, so that the fuel pump bleeds the vapor lock. It is also possible to bleed the plug through the fuel rail fitting.

Another problem.

Unstable idle, dips, poor traction.

Incorrectly adjusted brake and clutch pedal limit switches. If the clutch pedal position sensor is lying, then the ECU does not understand whether the transmission is on or not and incorrectly issues commands to the actuators. If there are problems with the brake pedal position sensor, the control unit “thinks” that the engine is braking and closes the throttle valve, at some moments almost completely, therefore, the speed drops and the engine practically stalls.

For proper adjustment, it is best to use an auto scanner. I use Scanmatic. The screen clearly shows when the sensors turn on and off. It needs to be adjusted in such a way that there are no false alarms when driving on our “super roads”. The scanner can also be used to check the operation of the gas pedal position sensors, the “bouncing” of which also causes problems associated with twitching while driving.

There is another problem

which is present on all Gazelles, with the possible exception of some representatives of all-metal bodies. This is the harness and connectors for the rear lights, in particular the rear part where the wiring bifurcates. If on simple cars (before EURO 3) this was expressed in the fact that the lamps in the rear lights or some of them did not work; when shorted, the fuses burned, or even the harness itself melted, especially when “two- or five-ruble fuses” were used. Electricians and Gazelists will understand me. For EURO 3, this problem is that when the brake lights burn out, or there is a break or short in the wiring, the information from the brake pedal is distorted, which naturally affects the behavior of the engine. If the brake lamp circuit is broken, an error occurs indicating that the first brake pedal sensor is not working. Although the sensor is functional, the wiring from the sensor to the control unit is in excellent condition. When opening and checking the ECU, everything turns out to be in order, and the engine continues to operate according to the emergency program. It seems that everything that can be checked and rechecked, all that remains is to either change the ECU or the car. But it turns out that burnt out brake light bulbs are to blame. The same leapfrog occurs if the stop wires in the rear light harness are short-circuited. dimensions or turns. I turned on the turn signal or the side lights - the engine reacted with lightning speed, if it didn’t stall, then it behaved somehow wrong.

For information: When the brake pedal is released: on the 73rd leg (pink wire) of the ECU there is + 12V, and the 72nd leg (white-violet wire) is connected to ground through the brake light lamp. When the brake pedal is pressed: pin 73 is disconnected from +12V, pin 72 is disconnected from the on-board voltage.

There is only one treatment: watch the car.

After replacing the crankshaft pulley from an all-metal one to a damper one, cases of the rubber damper peeling off from the metal of the pulley began to periodically occur. At the same time, the car was “stupid”; the engine did not spin up above 3000 rpm. Moreover, this is a problem not only for Gazelles, but also for VAZ representatives. Only replacing the pulley will help.

Another feature of MIKAS 11ET is the ability to control the air conditioner. And if the car does not have an air conditioner, then the wires that should be connected to the appropriate points remain hanging in the air. And, especially in damp weather, they can interfere with the ECU, simulating a command to turn on the air conditioner. In this case, the engine raises the speed to approximately 1500 at idle and keeps it higher when driving. The defect is extremely rare.

This is probably the end of the problems associated with the factory.

Gazelle won't start: reasons, how to fix it - AutoExpert

Faulty injectors tend to have a negative effect on the Gazelle engine. And the sooner the car owner identifies the cause of problems with the injector, the sooner he will be able to eliminate it, protecting the engine from major repairs. What kind of malfunctions can happen to the injector?

Signs of trouble

There are three main symptoms of problems with the injector (injector malfunction) of a Gazelle car.

  1. A characteristic sign of a malfunction can be considered detonation, which is unpleasant to the driver’s hearing. It destroys the motor, which is why it is so important to find the fault in time and fix it.
  2. If the engine stalls for no reason on the road, and subsequent attempts to start it lead to the goal only after many repetitions, this is a clear sign of a faulty injector.
  3. The power of the power unit does not inspire approval as before. In common parlance, the car does not “pull”. When climbing a hill, the movement turns into a real test of the driver’s nervous system and can be detrimental to the engine.

Doesn't start when the injector is hot

3 main factors for inconsistent injector operation

Experts identify 3 main factors influencing the unstable operation of the injection system.

  1. The time that has its effect on the injectors. The longer the service life, the higher the chance of their failure.
  2. Low-quality fuel filled at gas stations in post-Soviet countries is considered the most common cause.
  3. Repair procedures carried out at questionable service stations.

The last factor of injector malfunction is the most dangerous, as it can affect overall performance. It is better to entrust all adjustment operations to experienced professionals. As a last resort, you can try to repair this or that part yourself rather than handing over your car to be “torn to pieces” by amateurs.

Gazelle injector won't start

There are many reasons for the negative operation of the injection system, but it is worth highlighting the most dangerous and common ones. They occur on various power units; reviews regarding their prevention are almost the same.

Typical faults

Let's look at the most classic injuries.

  1. Increased fuel consumption may indicate clogged injectors. Their nozzle has a small diameter, and even the slightest contamination can lead to disruption of the mixture formation process. Thus, the percentage of efficiency decreases.
  2. Lack of fuel fluid in the system. The presence of this symptom indicates that the problem is not only in the injectors themselves, but also in other elements working in tandem with them.
  3. The XX injector mode is unstable. This sign may indicate many problems.
  4. Difficulty starting the engine.
  5. Trouble in the system resulting from a faulty cylinder/s.
  6. Fuel overflow in the system.

A clogged injector nozzle is unable to inject the required amount of gasoline or diesel fuel. As a result, a significant amount of fuel burns out in the manifold, and this leads not only to an increase in consumption, but also to other malfunctions - loss of power characteristics, increased load on the electronics, failure of the ignition module, spark plugs, armor wiring, etc.

Normal and clogged injector nozzle

When little fuel enters the system, this may indicate a failure of the fuel pump. The latter, in many cases, is simply installed crookedly in the process of amateurishly carried out repair work. In many cases, the fuel pump simply becomes clogged and needs to be cleaned.

The most compelling reason for unstable operation of the idle mode is a malfunction of the IAC sensor. In some cases, the throttle surface may become clogged.

Engine starting problems are usually caused by a lack of spark. To quickly check this, it is recommended to use a spark gap. Experts do not recommend checking the spark for a break, as this may negatively affect the operation of the ignition module and controller.

Trouble on the injector occurs due to poorly functioning cylinders of the power unit. The problem is resolved only after identifying non-working elements. Then you need to disassemble the motor and replace the required parts.

Fuel fluid in the Gazelle injector overflows, as a rule, due to a faulty sensor responsible for the position of the damper.

Thus, all the problems listed above need to be fixed quickly. As mentioned above, it is worth doing self-adjustment only in two cases: if you have a lot of experience and if there are no normal specialists nearby. Do-it-yourself repairs can be carried out using competent instructions and master classes. There are a lot of them on the Internet today.

The advantage of high-quality service stations, in addition to the high professionalism of the workers, is that they have high-tech equipment. In addition to helping to clean the injectors, the equipment makes it possible to conduct comprehensive diagnostics. For example, using the device, you can easily identify needle wear and the actual performance of a particular injector.

If flushing the injector does not affect its performance, the part most likely needs to be replaced. It’s better to install a new one than to waste time on a full diagnosis of the element.

It was said above that problems due to low-quality fuel are considered the most common in the countries of the post-Soviet space. And this is true, because fuel with a high percentage of foreign impurities and debris a priori contributes to the formation of soot, which clogs the injector nozzles over time.

Troubleshooting

Computer diagnostics is the beginning of any repair. Clarifies the causes of malfunctions. Special equipment is used. Fuel injection system[/td]

Failure to promptly replace the fuel filter results in small dirt particles entering the injector nozzles. Normal supply of gasoline is difficult. Ultrasound is used to remove dirt and the filter is replaced.
Fuel pumpLocated in the fuel tank. Serves to supply gasoline to the injectors. Long-term operation of the pump leads to wear of its working elements.

: how to determine whether an injector is faulty

Today, the injector is still considered a reliable fuel assembly supply system. However, the system is beginning to lose out to more modern technologies. Thus, the new internal combustion engine has better characteristics that meet ECO standards.

The GAZelle engine does not start after repair: what to do?

Hello, please help me, the following bullshit. I drove a GAZelle (405 engine), everything was fine, I drove out of town at the usual speed of 70-80 km/h, the car stalled, turning on the starter, there was a feeling that the engine was turning somehow easier, as if the spark plugs had been turned out, I didn’t even catch it.

I took off the head, even took out two pistons, everything was fine, the piston was in good condition, even though I hadn’t warmed up the engine, I looked - the head was a little twisted, I polished it at the factory, assembled the engine - it won’t start, the compression is 3-4 points, the chain didn’t jump, with valves Everything was fine - visually, I couldn’t find the cause of the breakdown at all.

Don’t laugh, I’ve been suffering for two months now, I’m already going crazy, please advise what to do. (Yuri)

Yuri, good afternoon. Unfortunately, we cannot help you due to the fact that you did some of the work yourself, and it is almost impossible to make a diagnosis remotely, without seeing the car. We once encountered a similar problem after replacing valves.

To start the engine, we tried almost everything: from adjusting the ignition to adjusting the fuel supply. As a result, it turned out that while the car was being towed, there was an air leak.

Next, we will try to give you some recommendations on how to start a car after engine repair.

Categories Reasons

Car service to help

If you decide to contact a car service, first of all carry out engine diagnostics. Few inexperienced drivers understand the cause of the breakdown. At the same time, the Gazelle 405 may not start for various reasons, and some of them can be resolved on the spot.

When you finally take your car to a car service center, at least consult with its employees; most likely they will tell you what the problem is.

It is very important to know absolutely everything about your car.

to protect yourself on the road and do extra work. Sooner or later, any part can break, but it will be better if you are prepared for this.

The carburetor engine stalls after warming up - what's the matter?

Carburetor power units are actually a thing of the past. But many cars on the roads of our country still use this option for supplying fuel to the engine. For many, a carburetor turns out to be a fairly convenient means of replacing an injector, since the car becomes easier to repair and cheaper to operate. In most cases, the owner of a carburetor car can independently carry out basic maintenance work on the fuel supply system. In the case of an injector, this task should only be performed by specialists. For simple carburetor repairs, you do not need special equipment, but to work with an injector, such devices are simply necessary. Therefore, such a part of the engine power system has certain advantages. Interestingly, these advantages force many to change the injector to a carburetor, which is not difficult at all.

Problems that arise with the carburetor can be very different. One of the common problems is that the engine stops working after the car has completely warmed up. The driver has to increase the speed with the help of a choke, but this trick will not work on carburetors with auto-choke. Eventually, the engine will stall as soon as you release the gas pedal. At every traffic light, intersection and pedestrian crossing, the driver begins to curse fate, red lights and innocent pedestrians, and the carburetor continues to stall and refuses to work normally, despite very expensive gasoline. Let's figure out the nature of this trouble.

Clogged intake tube in the tank, air or fuel filter

Another reason that your Gazelle with a Cummins engine does not start may be a clogged fuel or air filter.

When the fuel filter is clogged, we do not receive the required amount of fuel, and when the air filter is clogged, there is correspondingly little air. If the car jerks or there are dips in dynamics, check all filters. They need to be changed at least once every 15,000 km.

Special cases

In addition to all of the above, other adventures happen with the Gazelle 405. Many drivers do not notice how the chain on the engine jumps. Accordingly, the engine refuses to come to life until the chain is in its place.

Read more: Chevrolet Aveo T250 length

Your task is simply to open the hood and check if the chain is in order

, if not, then put it in its place. This procedure will take you 10 minutes at best, but you will be able to start your car. Otherwise, the Gazelle 405 injector does not start due to other problems.

It is quite difficult to answer this question, so we have simply listed for you several of the most common breakdown options. You can get an accurate answer only after a thorough diagnosis. It is at this stage that you can find out the reason why the car refuses to start. Therefore, do not rack your brains and better contact a car service center.

Yes, you will spend money, and most likely a lot, but at least you will be able to continue to quietly drive around in your gazelle.

Good afternoon. The engine took a long time to start when cold, but started the second time. When hot, it starts with half a push, if you just turn it off and start it right away, if you wait for a minute or more, it turns for a long time again.

I'll tell you right away. DTV and DTOZH are new, the mass air flow sensor is working (I removed the chip), the DPKV is working (because it wouldn’t start, I cleaned it), the ECU (brains) is working

The spark plugs are new and the coils are in good working order. No air leak

Starting is equally bad on both gasoline and gas.

The car runs fine on gasoline, everything is fine here.

On gas everything is worse, from 1000 to 2500-3000 thousand revolutions the car shakes, but sometimes it’s normal.

I've already tried everything, nothing helps. Everything worked fine before, but suddenly such problems appeared. HELP
