Many connoisseurs of this model prefer to tune the car with their own hands, in particular this includes engine tuning, and replacing all parts, or modifying existing ones. Probably one of the most popular modifications in the car interior is tuning the dashboard, because the driver always directs his gaze to this element of the interior when driving.

About the production of a penny

Contrary to popular belief that the first thousands of cars were assembled from kits brought from Italy, the VAZ-2101 was made from parts from the very beginning. produced in the USSR, however, the quality of cars in the first years of production was indeed higher, but this was due to the fact that over time, the molds that were truly “Fiat” wore out, the machines grew old, losing their former accuracy - all this steadily led to a decrease quality of manufactured cars. That’s why we can often see on the roads now a “penny” from the early seventies much more often than a car from the eighties.

In total, between 1970 and 1983, almost three million rolled off the assembly line of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. cars of the VAZ-2101 family of various modifications, in particular:

VAZ-2101 – basic version

VAZ-21011 - a variant with a modified body design (the front seats were replaced, controls were modified, etc.) and engine (the 1.2 liter was replaced by a modified one with a volume of 1.3 liters and a power of 63 horsepower). Popularly, this car received the nickname “eleven” VAZ-21013 - a version of the VAZ-21011 with a 1.2 liter engine VAZ-21016 - a version with an engine of increased power (71 horsepower) and cubic capacity (1.5 liters), intended mainly for use in the police VAZ-21018 is a variant with a VAZ-311 rotary engine with a power of 70 horsepower. VAZ-21019 is a variant with a VAZ-411 rotary engine with a power of 120 horsepower.

In addition to the listed modifications, the so-called export version of the LADA-1200 was produced, which was actively supplied both to the countries of the socialist camp (GDR, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Bulgaria) and to Western Europe, in particular this car could be found on the roads of Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, as well as to Africa (Egypt and Nigeria).

The VAZ-2101 car became the founder of a whole family of cars, which later received the common name “classic” among the people.

When I asked for a harness on the market, they offered me an “adapter from 2101 to 2106”, upon detailed study it turned out that the difference from those shown in the diagram is that the “adapter” does not have an output to the handbrake lamp relay (2101-3803150), because . on the 2101 relay it hangs on the wires entering the cabin. That is, you can take the standard 2106 harness without any hesitation and move the relay.

Although on the new 2106 circuits there is no relay on the handbrake at all, in this case the “adapter” can essentially just be a harness from the electrical equipment 2106 of the new model.
